Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social media and the desire to showcase wealth, these points could be expanded with more depth. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack sufficient detail to reach a higher band. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, and the analysis of why it is a negative trend could be more nuanced to fully explore the implications of this behavior.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'likewise' used incorrectly in the introduction and 'thus' used to introduce a point rather than a conclusion. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. While there is a logical progression, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive nature of the transitions limit the coherence of the piece.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors ('indvidual', 'revelad', 'touristor', 'differnt', 'curcial') and awkward collocations like 'ocean of people' or 'click picture'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic terms. To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring correct spelling, as these errors occasionally make the reader pause.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('number of people... visit'), missing articles ('in modern era'), and incorrect verb forms ('while share photos', 'for spent time'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the writing from achieving a higher score.
