Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying social media influence as a primary cause and arguing that this trend is positive. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times confusing. For instance, the argument that not researching a place is a 'good idea' because it allows for 'adventures' is underdeveloped and lacks logical support. The response struggles to maintain a clear, consistent position, and some points, such as the mention of ChatGPT, are not fully integrated into the main argument. To improve, you should provide more specific, well-reasoned examples to support your claims.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'For example', 'So'), they are often applied incorrectly or in a way that makes the sentences difficult to follow. The referencing is frequently unclear, particularly in the second and third paragraphs, where the connection between social media, AI, and the act of visiting places is muddled. The flow between sentences is often interrupted by grammatical errors, which hinders the overall readability of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'took photographs' instead of 'taking photographs' and 'get an information' instead of 'get information'. The use of terms like 'advance technology' and 'imaging the place' shows a lack of precision. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary and focus on using words in their correct grammatical context, avoiding basic errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the message. There are consistent issues with verb forms (e.g., 'visit famous travel destination for took photographs'), subject-verb agreement, and article usage. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often marred by errors, such as 'Which is good idea because if any one is searching for place...'. Punctuation is also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally discernible, the high frequency of errors prevents the text from reaching a higher band score.
