Student answer (Band 5.5)
Most of the people in today’s generation admire to learn about unfamiliar locations to take memories out of themselves and the place without even knowing about such locations. I believe this is the best way to create memories by taking pictures of those moments while visiting such places as an evidence by being present there physically. Once you become old even then body might not give enough strength to experience such tasks.
The best way to develop memories is clicking photos as an evidence for upcoming generations; by saying that this can be your ‘a trip to remember’ while experiencing the beauty of the place. Nowadays we have an instrument called smartphone, we can use to research about the place to understand the history behind its story. For example Taj Mahal is popular about the love story of Mumtaz and Shah Jahan.
Another reason one should visit unfamiliar places is to understand the traditions, cultures, authenticity of various parts in the world. For example Canada is famous for its well-known maple syrups and mesmerizing nature. This kind of experience is peaceful sometimes for the people who have rational daily routines, old stories to tell their upcoming generation.
In my opinion you can’t travel everyday to visit such places to experience something new, however taking pictures and to create memories to remember. I always suggest my friends and families to visit any unknown places, of course before taking such decisions you should research about the place to make an itinerary for the trip to save a good amount of time and money while your vacation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, but the development is inconsistent. You identify reasons for the trend, such as creating memories and evidence of travel, and express a positive view. However, the argument is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, you mention that people visit places to take photos without looking at them, but you do not fully explore the implications of this specific behavior. The ideas are relevant but remain at a surface level, and the connection between the 'why' and your 'positive' stance could be more clearly articulated to fully satisfy the requirements of a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'For example' and 'In my opinion', the transitions between sentences are occasionally mechanical or unclear, such as the phrase 'by saying that this can be your' in the second paragraph. Referencing is sometimes ambiguous, making it difficult to track the logical flow of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some repetitive phrasing, such as 'memories' and 'unfamiliar places'. There are also instances of awkward word choices or collocations, such as 'admire to learn about' and 'taking memories out of themselves'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and occasional misuse of terms limit the score. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and ensuring that words are used in their correct idiomatic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'body might not give'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'as an evidence by being present'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to suggest a lack of control over more complex grammatical forms. Focusing on sentence structure and proofreading for basic errors would be beneficial.
