Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, Many people just want to visit the places to only enjoy but only taking photographs of themselves, without enjoying the actual location. In my opinion, I feel like its the negative trend and I will explain the scenario with examples and explanations.
To begin with, some people just went for the trips to the most wonderful places, like Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. But they end up there finding out food and taking pictures of themselves to post on their social accounts. To some extent, Its a good part as, later on, when you will see these images in future. You are going to make memories.
In addition to that, Youth in comparison to the Older generation spending their half of the day on instagram and TikTok accounts, they have a whole race in between them that who is going to be more famous and will have more followers in the future that makes them glued to their phones and they forgot to enjoy the real time thats what happening in their practical life and what they are missing fro their surroundings.
Finally, I would say that its a negative trend as, they invested a lot of money to travel , air fares and accommodations. Beside that , if they are not enjoying the real life around them then it will be worthless to go to visit the country and wastage of money and time if there is no exposure.
In conclusion to that, everyone has their own opinions but in my case I would highly recommend not to only focus on the photos but explore and gather as much as you can when you visit next time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the opinion on whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The explanation regarding social media pressure is relevant but could be expanded with more depth. The argument that it is a 'negative trend' is clear, but the supporting points, such as the mention of 'wasting money,' are slightly repetitive. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced examples or explore the psychological motivations behind this behavior more thoroughly to ensure the ideas are fully extended.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In conclusion to that' or 'Beside that'. Additionally, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is abrupt. While there is a clear progression of ideas, the linking phrases could be more varied and natural to improve the flow of the text. The referencing, such as 'that's what happening', is occasionally unclear, which slightly impacts the overall cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'accommodations' and 'exposure', but the range is somewhat limited. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'enjoy the real time' or 'whole race in between them'. There are also minor errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'fro their surroundings' (from) and 'its the negative trend' (it is a). Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise collocations would enhance the quality of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and punctuation. For example, 'Nowadays, Many people' (capitalization error) and 'its the negative trend' (missing apostrophe and article usage). The sentence 'Youth in comparison to the Older generation spending their half of the day...' is a fragment and lacks a clear main verb. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for small errors would be beneficial.
