Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is an ongoing debate about whether numerous individuals are more interested to taking pictures of themselves in this cotemporary era rather than looking at the place. This is because people influence through social media and posts. In my opinion, this is a negative view which cause visitors do not enjoy the place. This essay will discuss why this is happening and how it give negative impact on people.

One of the primary reason is that pressure of social media. People watch videos and reels on their Instagram of their favorite actors and influencers. Which makes them more eager about that place and for showing off on social media they go that place and taking pictures. This is because they gain more likes and comments on their posts. Moreover, taking pictures are easy way to preserve memories. Visitors often click pictures for making memorable movements for future. As tis result, they clicks pictures without deeply knowing the place.

This trend has several negative points. First of all, people give attention only on taking pictures. They does not give intension to the history and culture of that place. They may spend most of the time to taking the pictures rather than enjoying the beauty of the sencry. In addition, this trend provide the competition to individuals through the clicking more better pictures for posting on social media.

In conclusion, due to social media, people influenced from their ideals and visit the new places without getting the knowledge about that place and taking several pictures. Which cause people do not enjoy that place.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social media pressure and the desire to preserve memories, the explanation remains superficial. For instance, the point about 'preserving memories' is not fully connected to the core issue of not looking at the place itself. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your arguments with more specific examples or deeper analysis of the psychological or social implications of this behavior. The position is clear throughout, but the overall depth of the response is restricted by repetitive phrasing.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'First of all', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as starting sentences with 'Which makes...' or 'As tis result,'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors that make the connections feel slightly disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used to create smoother transitions would enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific terms like 'social media', 'influencers', and 'memorable'. However, there are instances of awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'give intension' (instead of 'pay attention') and 'clicking more better pictures'. There are also some spelling errors like 'cotemporary' and 'sencry'. To improve, focus on using more precise vocabulary and ensuring that your word choices are natural and contextually appropriate. Expanding your range of synonyms would also help avoid repetition.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, such as 'people influence' (should be 'are influenced'), 'taking pictures are' (should be 'is'), and 'they clicks' (should be 'they click'). Additionally, there are issues with sentence fragments, such as 'Which makes them more eager...' and 'Which cause people do not enjoy...'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally impede the flow of reading. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips before moving on to more complex structures.
