Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern era, most of the people prefer to visit different location to take pictures without searching about the location. I believe that it happens because of social media and it impact negatively imp. on the people.

To commence with, there are so many platforms available on the technical gadgets. Those are very easily accessable for the youth. For example, now days people used instagram to post about their daily lives also about the location where they visited. After that, their feends watched the pictures or videos on the platform. They saw the view in their photographs. Then, they want to go to the same location. Thus they want to went there without looking online and without reading the reviews on their websites.

On the other hand, it impacts the individual negatively. Because people waste their time and money for travelling. Visiting the location without any knowledge or the rad random sites can leads individuals to waste their expensive time, for example instance, the Banff is a beautiful location . This is main tourist place . But it does not have any history. Thus, as a result, people can just take pictures only without gathering any historical information.

To conclude, Although people believe that visiting random well known places is good for taking potographs, i believe that it is not benefical for a person. Therefore, he can take only pictures But also, waste money and time. I would like to suggest that people should search about that before they visit the location.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is limited. The explanation regarding social media is somewhat repetitive, and the example of Banff is not fully clear or logically connected to the argument about historical knowledge. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting arguments lack depth and specific detail. To improve, you should aim to expand your points with more nuanced reasoning rather than repeating the same concepts. The response meets the minimum length requirement, but the ideas remain at a surface level, which prevents a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'After that' and 'Thus they want to went there' feel forced and do not always create a smooth logical flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between ideas is basic. While there is an overall progression, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the occasional awkward phrasing make the cohesion feel somewhat disjointed. Improving the variety of transition signals would significantly enhance the readability of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. You rely on simple, repetitive language such as 'well-known places', 'take pictures', and 'waste time'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'technical gadgets' instead of 'digital devices' or 'social media platforms'. Spelling errors like 'accessable', 'feends', and 'potographs' are present, which indicates a need for more careful proofreading. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and demonstrate a wider lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'they want to went there', 'it impact negatively imp. on the people', and 'can leads individuals'. Subject-verb agreement and verb tense consistency are areas that require significant attention. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from being considered accurate. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that verb forms are used correctly before attempting more complex structures.
