Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 189 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you address both parts of the prompt—explaining the reasons for the trend and expressing an opinion on whether it is positive or negative—the arguments are underdeveloped. For instance, the discussion on why people take photos is brief, and the explanation of the negative impacts lacks depth and specific examples. To improve, you must expand your points with more detailed explanations and illustrative examples to fully explore the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. Phrases like 'In consequence' and 'For instance' are used, but the flow between sentences is often disjointed. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'the are many negative impacts on other people as well as tourist places.' To achieve a higher score, you should focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, central topic sentence that connects logically to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band score. You rely on basic terms like 'unwanted photos' and 'show of their status.' There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'portable so this made to revolutionise photos' and 'public who really want to explore places would not explored.' To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'social validation,' 'digital documentation,' or 'cultural heritage,' and ensure you are using words in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('the are many negative impacts'), article usage ('the tourisms'), and sentence structure ('tending to unwanted photos without looking the place'). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and prepositions. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect word forms will help improve the overall accuracy of your writing.
