Student answer (Band 5.5)
Recently I was reading in news paper about one incident reported about missing of a person from CNE(Canada Networking Event) which straight away brought thought in my mind that lately people are very much fond of visiting to well-known and highly crowded places like CNE & along with that taking pictures at every spots possible is the trend. out of these many places would be unhygenic and they do not notice or check about it.
Due to Social media like Facebook, Instagram Reels, Tiktok many influencers go for promotions to such events and as soon as those promos gets viral people attract to visit by trusting them, but when they visit places like CNE, it becomes there nightmare. on last long weekend at this event to get car parking only it has taken almost 2 hours near Toronto area, later if you have not taken admission ticket online then taking it from counter also adds lots of time. After that there were many famous places at entrance where many influencers & celebrities have taken photographs so imitate the same long queues has got started, and it kept on growing. however there were many sports which were not at all looking photogenic nor having appropriate lighting due to which photos were not coming good, but still people were following each other.
I feel getting influenced by watching video and following the trend and the visiting such places doesn't build your own opinion or thought about it, upon that if you start taking photos everywhere possible without checking about the place doesn't make sense
but at few points i contradict and many places out these are beautiful and if you take photos there, it becomes life-long memories for you.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, exploring the reasons behind the trend of visiting famous places for photography (such as social media influence by platforms like Instagram and TikTok) and offering an opinion on whether it is positive or negative. The writer presents a clear position, stating that blindly following trends without forming personal opinions lacks sense, while acknowledging that certain photographs can become life-long memories. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and anecdotal, relying heavily on a single extended example about an event called CNE. The reasoning remains slightly underdeveloped and overly narrative rather than analytical, which aligns best with Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The text demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement, guiding the reader through the writer's personal thoughts and experiences. Paragraphing is attempted, though the formatting lacks clean breaks between main ideas, grouping the introduction, body narrative, and conclusion awkwardly. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty, as seen with transitional phrases like "out of these many places would be unhygenic" and "upon that." Referencing is occasionally unclear, and punctuation issues disrupt smooth progression. The organizational structure is sufficient to follow the writer's argument, but logical transitions lack flexibility and precision, making Band 5.5 a fair and accurate assessment.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate everyday concepts related to social media, influencers, and tourism. There are successful attempts to use less common vocabulary items such as "influencers," "promotions," "photogenic," and "contradict." However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as "reading in news paper about one incident reported about missing of a person" instead of 'a reported incident,' and "take car parking" instead of 'find parking.' Spelling and word formation errors, such as "unhygenic," also occur. These errors do not seriously impede communication, fitting the criteria for Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though control over complex structures is inconsistent. The text contains frequent grammatical and punctuation errors that occasionally strain the reader's interpretation. Examples of errors include run-on sentences and missing punctuation ("Recently I was reading in news paper... trend. out of these many places..."), incorrect verb forms ("gets viral," "has taken almost 2 hours"), and preposition misuse ("visiting to well-known"). Punctuation and capitalization are frequently neglected at the start of sentences. Because errors are frequent and recurrent across simple and complex sentences, the writing sits firmly at Band 5.0.
