Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The candidate attempts to address both parts of the prompt: why people visit famous places to take photos without looking at them, and whether this is a positive or a negative trend. However, the response contains significant contradictions and confusion regarding the standpoint. In the introduction, the writer states 'I think this is positive trend', but the first body paragraph argues that this behavior causes 'total wastage of money as well as time' and highlights negative social media consequences. The second body paragraph then shifts to arguing that exploring new places is a positive trend. This oscillation makes the position somewhat unclear and affects the overall development of ideas. As a result, the task response falls under Band 5, where the response addresses the prompt only partially and the position is not consistently clear throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently disrupted. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as 'one the one hand', 'on the other hand', and 'To conculde'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the content of the paragraphs sometimes contradicts the stated stance. For instance, the conclusion discusses health benefits ('fit and health in their life') which were never introduced in the body paragraphs, interrupting the flow of information. Referencing is also faulty in places, such as 'which people are visit to new places', which creates confusion for the reader. These issues align with Band 5, which features inadequate or repetitive cohesive devices and a lack of clear overall progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student demonstrates a limited range of vocabulary with frequent errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation. Examples include 'Thesedays' instead of 'These days', 'eassy' instead of 'essay', 'dicuss' instead of 'discuss', and 'paragraphics' instead of 'paragraphs'. There are also awkward collocations and grammatical forms such as 'more visit to the famous places' and 'fake life front of the public'. While some vocabulary relating to travel and social media is attempted (e.g., 'social media', 'culture'), the numerous lexical errors cause strain and difficulty for the reader at times. This performance is characteristic of Band 5, featuring a limited vocabulary range and noticeable errors that impede clear understanding.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions or comma splices, such as 'if people going somewhere like famous location they can upload their picture on internet due to this people can more influence'. Attempts at complex sentences frequently result in serious grammatical errors, incorrect verb tenses, missing articles, and faulty subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people are upload', 'people do not known', 'who people are more travel'). Punctuation is also weak, with widespread spacing and capitalization errors. Because frequent grammatical errors cause significant difficulty for the reader, this response fits the Band 5 descriptor for Grammatical Range and Accuracy.
