Student answer (Band 6.0)
Selfies are becoming trend for the majority of population by exploring different places. I think this is happening due to social media, people want to be seen by the population. Its a negative change because people are loosing interest to the surrounded world and just taking pictures to get likes and comments.
Presently, large amount of people turning towards the latest change to upload pictures on social media platforms. By this they get shared, followed and likes by other individuals. They want fame by visiting different places and uploading their pictures. This would stop them to really enjoy being in the place. They just think of a spot which can be best fit for picture. For instance social media platform like Instagram, Facebook are used by most of the people. They upload their images by visiting different places and their family friends will like and share them. This actually loosing the interest to be actually in the moment to explore places.
Consequently, this change will impact the human beings in harmful manner. They want their images to be best, clear and beautiful otherwise they become irritated. If they do not get the likes and comments from social media they start getting agitated. on other hand if they get likes and shares they want, dopamine rush will occur in their body. They want to become more popular by going to next level. Ancient monuments and old buildings are the places to recollect the cultural heritage of the ancient people, its not the place to just take images.
for example several people visit Taj Mahal a old buiding to recollect the memories of king shah jahan and to see its construction. Perhaps people often miss this, what they remember is to take images to be at that place.
Exploring different places to take images are becoming very common in today's world. The reason is to become popular by uploading there pictures to social media platforms like instagram and facebook. It impact individuals mental heath by increasing dopamine rush, without being present at the moment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why people visit famous places just for photos (social media, fame, validation) and whether this is a positive or negative trend (viewed as negative due to loss of engagement with the moment). The position is clear throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, and the argument about the dopamine rush is a bit simplistic and under-developed. Examples such as visiting the Taj Mahal are relevant and help support the overall stance. Overall, the ideas satisfy the requirements for Band 6 by addressing all parts with relevant thoughts, though some parts lack deeper extension.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay has a basic overall logical arrangement, dividing ideas into introduction, body paragraphs focusing on reasons and consequences, and a brief conclusion. However, paragraphing and logical progression are occasionally awkward; for instance, the conclusion feels somewhat abrupt and repeats preceding points. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'they', 'this', and 'different places', which occasionally makes referencing slightly unclear. Paragraphs are used, but their internal structuring and transitions between sentences could be smoother. This corresponds well with the Band 6 descriptor for coherence and cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'dopamine rush', 'cultural heritage', and 'agitated'. However, there are notable word-choice errors, incorrect collocations, and spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'loosing' instead of 'losing', 'surrounded world' instead of 'surrounding world', and 'mental heath'. Despite these inaccuracies, communication is not severely impeded, and the vocabulary used is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, placing it firmly at a Band 6 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent, with frequent errors in articles, prepositions, verb forms, and punctuation, such as 'Selfies are becoming trend', 'large amount of people turning', and 'its not the place'. Punctuation errors, such as missing capitalisation at the beginning of sentences ('its', 'for example'), are also noticeable. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the writing from reaching a higher band score, fitting the Band 5 descriptor well due to the frequency of structural errors.
