Student answer (Band 5.5)
Social media is affecting our community in a number of ways. Now a days people are more interested in what will look better on screens than in reality?. Similiar is the situation the people might go to many places they are not usually interested but they want to be filmed there just for the trends. No doubt, it has both positive as well as negative points but we will discuss it in detail in this essay.
Digitalisation and modernization have influenced people of every community in one or the other way. It has both its benfits and drawbacks. Social media has no doubt revloutionzed the world, either it be from providing better income, life style or the awareness and highlighting the sensitive issues. The one thing is that people are being influenced by the influencers so much that they only want to copy them. As we all know that there are many well-known places in every country embarking the culture of that area. Previously, people donot know much of these places but social media often made trends of such areas and as a result more and more people visit them.
But it should be noted that people who visit such places under the influence of their ideals are only for photographs. They wanted to be filmed there so they can put these on various social platforms and become viral. The essence of visiting such places, questing about the history and culture is some what lost. For example, people goes to Cappadocia now a days alot just because they follow trends and everyone is busy only to be photographed. Its more like a peer pressure that is developing by this.
The only positive aspect of this is that this boosts tourism. For example if more and more people go to that places, they can generate revenue from them and helps to provide income for the local community.
In conclusion, though this provides torusim and revenue but somewhat only to visit place for photographs and not even actually visiting the place is making the new generation only limited to camera and screens with no interest in human interaction and exploring different areas and cultures.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why people visit well-known places just to take photographs without engaging with the environment, and whether this is a positive or negative trend. The candidate provides relevant ideas, identifying social media influence, peer pressure, and the desire to go viral. The position is clear, concluding that it is largely a negative trend despite minor economic benefits. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, especially in the conclusion. For example, the point about tourism boosting revenue is briefly mentioned with a basic example ('For example if more and more people go to that places, they can generate revenue'). To reach a higher band, the ideas would need more thorough extension and sophisticated support. Nevertheless, all parts of the task are addressed, earning a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing causes and impacts, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate distinct ideas, such as the causes of the behavior in paragraph two and the negative effects in paragraph three. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. The introductory paragraph contains disjointed transitions and phrasing ('Similiar is the situation the people might go to many places...'), and referencing is occasionally unclear. Furthermore, cohesive devices like 'For example' and 'In conclusion' are used, but the progression between sentences lacks smoothness in places. Paragraphing logic is maintained, but overall the cohesive control aligns best with Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The candidate demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'Digitalisation', 'modernization', 'revloutionzed', and 'peer pressure'. However, there are frequent spelling errors ('Now a days', 'Similiar', 'benfits', 'revloutionzed', 'donot', 'lot' instead of 'a lot', 'torusim') and occasional word choice/collocation issues ('embanking the culture', 'questing about the history'). These errors do not seriously impede communication, as the reader can still grasp the intended meaning, but they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.5, reflecting a mix of adequate vocabulary alongside noticeable mechanical and spelling inaccuracies.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, featuring frequent errors such as subject-verb agreement issues ('people goes', 'helps to provide'), incorrect tense usage ('Previously, people donot know'), and awkward phrasing ('the people might go to many places they are not usually interested'). Punctuation is also problematic, including unnecessary question marks ('in reality?.') and comma splices. While simple sentences are generally understandable, the frequency of structural errors in complex attempts means the response fits comfortably at Band 5.0, where frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader.
