IELTS Writing Task 2 question
More and more people nowadays visit well-known places to take photographs of themselves, without looking at the place.
Why do you think this is happening?
Is it a positive or a negative trend?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays more and more people travel diffrent places which are very well known places to take photographs of themselves, without looking at the place.
As nowadays many people are on social media far away but very much connected to each other so it makes a small world to live in. So rather then concentrating in their own life people are intrested in others life and it's a trend of showing of what good things are happening around us rather then showing the reality everyone shows the fake life they lives in, And also rather then understanding the real meaning and the beauty of the place.
Mostly it's a negative trend which affect their lifes, rather then experencing the beauty of the place people try clicking photos of themselves. Before there wasn't a craze for social media trends so people used to enjoy their life and learn many things when they travel. for example people traveling to goa just to click the picture and drink alchol to post on social media but the goa is know for it's historical forts and may historical places but most of the people are not aware of it and just visit the goa to drink alchol and click pictures at beach.
Conclusion is that 80 percent fo people visit plaaces which are well know just to take picture and to post it on social media to live a fake and creat fake percepation in others mind so its a negative trend towards the social media.
