Student answer (Band 5.5)
Today, large proportion of world are more likely to go to the places that are famous enough just to take selfies and photos of them even they do not check the place. The main reason it happens is the trend that is going on social media. In my opinion, this is a positive trend because of memories they made at the place.
To start with, social media have grown everywhere that it had made up its own hype in society. Whenever, people visit to any place they clicked their pictures and post it on social platforms. With this, other individuals got to know about that place and if they find it beautiful, they would also make plans to visit the same destination. Moreover, if any celebrity visit any corner of world and post any selfie there, people would love to go there just because of them. For example, once my brother visits the Niagara Fall and post his picture on instagram and I love location because his photo was perfect. From that day, I think I would also visit there so just two weeks ago I went to Toronto to visit my brother so I went to Niagara and took my photo there.
Furthermore, people always love to take photgraphs so that they can make beautiful memories. In today's world, no one has enough time that they can meet anyone on regular basis sometime even their parents. When they visit some famous palces, they enjoy, est togehter, and capture those memories in terms of photogtaphs. They do this so that they can remember past memories with smile and love. For example, few years ago, I went to Golden Temple in Amritsar with my family. Me and my family took many pictures facing ourselves towards Gurudwara Sahib. Now, I am apart from my family, whenver, I see that photos it remembers me about that beautiful time I hd there.
To conclude, taking pictures has become common in famous places. Everyone wants to become a part of the social media trend, that is reason behind it. However, making memories is good way to remember past events which is a postive trend.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the task, explaining why people take photographs at famous places without truly experiencing them and giving a clear personal opinion that this is a positive trend due to the memories created. The writer presents relevant ideas and supports them with examples, such as the anecdote about visiting the Niagara Falls and the Golden Temple. However, the development tends to be somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding social media influence and photo-taking. While the position is clear throughout, the support for why it is a positive trend relies heavily on personal emotional value rather than wider societal benefits, placing the response securely in Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an overall logical arrangement. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate reasons from the evaluation of the trend. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'To start with', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore', but some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'with this, other individuals got to know'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, for example, 'whenver, I see that photos it remembers me'. Progression is evident, but the cohesive control lacks the flexibility required for a higher band, making Band 6.0 the most accurate assessment.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases such as 'hype in society' and 'social platforms'. However, there are frequent word-choice and collocation errors, such as 'large proportion of world' instead of 'a large proportion of the world', 'est togehter' (eat together), and 'facing ourselves towards Gurudwara Sahib'. Spelling errors are also noticeable, including 'photgraphs', 'photogtaphs', 'hd' for had, and 'postive'. Because these errors occasionally distract the reader without completely impeding communication, the response fits the Band 5.5 descriptors well.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors across articles, verb tenses, and subject-verb agreement. Examples include 'today, large proportion', 'social media have grown... that it had made up', 'Whenever, people visit to any place they clicked their pictures', and 'whenver, I see that photos it remembers me'. Punctuation is also inconsistent. Although meaning remains generally clear, the high frequency of basic and complex structural errors keeps the response at a Band 5.0.
