Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this modern era, everybody likes to post pictures on social media. However, people like to visit different spots which they rae watching on internet without searching about that place. according to me this a negative trend which i will explain in upcoming paragraphs with relevant examples.

first and foremost reason for this negative trend is wastage of money as well as time. It is clear that in this society people like to visit places ehich they watched on media suchas intagram and facebook and so on. which are sometimes too far from their residential areas but still they want to follow that trend while visiting their and clicking sufficient pictures and posting on interests people to try and visit that place but when they are going people are realizing that this place is not worth it to visit there. For example, A group of school visited to Niagara on the lake where they spend 200 dollars per person for travel stay and return. And they don't like that place when they visited there in person but they just saw that in reels.therefore, visiting places just for photographs is called wastage of time and moeny.

Furthermore, these places are not safe unless people are aware and well known about that area. people like to visit places just for pictures before checking their review and feedback on internet. For instance, me and my boyfriend we went for jet skie in scarbrough as one of his friend posted pictures and then we decided to visit there without looking at that particular place. where we spend $250 per person and had 2 falls in water form skie and they owner of the skiee called ambullance for us and took us in emergency. so, this kind of places are not safe to visit before looking for them.

To conclude, everybody ahs their own choices of visiting to places for photographs but from my personal experinec i would like to restate that this totally wastage of money as wel as time. which creates unsafe enviornment for an individual so people suppose to check online before visiting a particular area.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The student addresses all parts of the task by explaining why people visit well-known places just for photographs without truly experiencing them, and clearly states their position that this is a negative trend. Ideas are presented, such as the wastage of money and time as well as safety concerns, and supported with personal and observational examples like the trip to Niagara on the lake and the jet ski incident in Scarborough. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and relies heavily on personal anecdotes rather than broader arguments, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Nevertheless, the main parts of the prompt are covered sufficiently.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response shows a clear overall progression and is divided into logical paragraphs, starting with an introduction, followed by body paragraphs addressing reasons and safety, and concluding with a summary. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'first and foremost', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in awkward transitions and run-on sentences like 'which are sometimes too far from their residential areas but still they want to follow that trend while visiting their and clicking sufficient pictures...'. Paragraphing is used, but internal sentence cohesion requires better control.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases like 'residential areas', 'social media', and 'feedback on internet'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'rae' instead of 'rare', 'ehich' instead of 'which', 'suchas', 'intagram', 'interests' instead of 'inspires', 'skies'/'skie', 'ambullance', and 'experinec'. These errors reflect a limited lexical control and occasional spelling slips, although they do not completely impede overall communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. There are frequent errors in verb tense consistency, prepositions, articles, and sentence structure. For example, 'people like to visit places which they watched on media', 'me and my boyfriend we went', and capitalization errors like starting sentences or proper nouns incorrectly ('first and foremost', 'scarbrough'). Additionally, run-on sentences with incorrect conjunction usage are common. These grammatical flaws cause difficulty for the reader at times.
