More and more people nowadays visit well-known places to take photographs of themselves, without looking at the place.

Why do you think this is happening?

Is it a positive or a negative trend?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

Undoubtedly, there always has been a change in the way people enjoying. Some people believe that many individual, nowadays, prefer to capture a moments rather than enjoy it by themselves. I believe that this is positive trend because people want to make memories for the future, and want to be active in social plateforms such as Facebook, Instagram.

To begin with, there is undeniably true that people are now more active on social media as compared to the past. They want to be a active on that because they may have a pressure to follow trend. This would mean that youngstar always prefer to post everything on social plateforms so that they can get likes, comments and appreciation from others. Influencers, for example, post everything online so that they can get attention from their followers. As a result, they may not enjoy visting place.

Morever, people want to create memories for themselves as well as for their upcoming generation. Because, they want to teach their children about places they have visited. For example, they can show their memories to their children and guide them about places like Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar and so on. Additionally, they may want to make a status in their community. This is because they post their memories online so that people can see it and make them realise about their status.

In conclusion, although they may avoid to know the real information about famous places rather than taking picture of themselves, they can create a memories. It can help them to rewatch it, and show their children about memories.
