Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many societies, people like to visit some renowned places to capture pictures of themselves without the knowledge of the place. This trend can have largely negative impacts on individuals, which I will discuss further.
One major reason for this development is the lack of awareness among people. This is mainly because these days people totally depend on social media like Instagram, facebook so on. As a result, if someone has posted on these applications about their visitor journey, they simply look at the background which the person has shown on social media; it can encourage them to visit there. A large population has been impacted by these applications by watching videos. Apart from that, people have increasingly busy lifestyles with immense responsibilities such as personal and work life, so in this situation they like to spend some precious time outside without any disturbance.
This development can have many negative effects. In particular, risk of a mishap in an unknown place. There are several places are avalibale in India where the government has banned to visit tourist due to the old infrastructure of the buildings. It can harm the visitor because people do not know the expiry date of that building or when it was built. Moreover, some places are not safe for humans due to the presence of wild animals. It may have deleterious effects on people's lives and their belongings also.
In conclusion, no doubt social media plays a vital for to encourage people to visit new places without having enough information about them. So this approach can have some negative impacts on individuals by visiting there despite the dangers of that particular location.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, exploring the reasons behind the trend—such as social media influence and busy lifestyles—and discussing whether it is a positive or negative development, concluding that it is negative. The position is clear throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on why people visit these places relies heavily on the general mention of social media platforms like 'Instagram, facebook so on', without providing deeper extension. Similarly, the arguments regarding safety hazards, such as old infrastructure or wild animals, are introduced but lack specific, fully explored examples. While all parts are addressed, the ideas remain somewhat surface-level, fitting the descriptors for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised to separate the causes from the effects. However, logical progression is occasionally hindered by abrupt transitions and faulty referencing. For example, the sentence 'In particular, risk of a mishap in an unknown place' is a sentence fragment rather than a fully realized clause. Furthermore, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or missing, and the pronoun referencing in sentences like 'it can encourage them to visit there' creates slight ambiguity regarding what 'it' refers to. Overall, the structure is logical enough to follow easily, but the mechanics of cohesion are faulty at times, placing this performance firmly at Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'renowned', 'deleterious', and 'infrastructure'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and phrasing throughout the text. Examples include 'without the knowledge of the place' (which likely meant without acknowledging the place or learning about it), 'avalibale' (a spelling error), and 'plays a vital for to encourage' (grammatical/lexical mismatch). The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the general message, but frequent slips in word formation and precise usage prevent the score from reaching a higher band, aligning well with the Band 6.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues that occasionally cause strain for the reader. Notable errors include sentence fragments ('In particular, risk of a mishap...'), spelling and form errors ('avalibale'), missing prepositions, and awkward clause structures such as 'the government has banned to visit tourist due to the old infrastructure'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough across the text to prevent the achievement of a Band 6.5 or 7.0. The control over grammar is characteristic of a Band 5.5 performance.
