Student answer (Band 6.5)
A lot of people visit popular places to take photographs of themselves without looking at the place. Nowadays, a lot of people go to different places to take pictures especially in restaurants, parks and well furnished apartments. In my own opinion, this is common among the younger generation. They love to go to a place that has more asthetics and cool enviroments just to get a good pictures of themselves. for instance, ladies usually plan hangout and choose a nice restaurant that is classy, asthetically pleasing with nice ambience for thier hangout. Because they feel when they snap pictures and post on different social media plateform, it will generate a lot of attentions. In adition, most influencial people also go to this places just to change location and give their picture a good background. they also visit to make some photoshoots for occasions like birthday shots, wedding shots, premiers and contents.
This is a positive trend because it makes photographs look beautiful and elegant. In some cases like inflencing, it will create more fashion ambassador deals which enables different brands to give them works. For examples there was a lady on titok that crocheted her birthday dress, the dress was so beautiful and a lot of people commented on that post and reach out to her to make the same dress for them. The dress was beautiful, classy and elegant and she used a nice background for the picture which makes it more elegant. she gain more followers and customers due to that post alone. If she did not use a good picture background she might not have much engagement on that post.
Visiting a place for a good photograph is a valid and positive trends.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by explaining why people visit popular places primarily for photography without engaging with the site, and clearly presents a position that this is a positive trend. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as the mention of ladies planning hangouts and the TikTok creator who successfully marketed her crocheted dress. However, the development tends to lean heavily on anecdotal support without a broader societal overview, which keeps it firmly at the Band 7 level. The position is maintained clearly throughout the introduction, body paragraphs, and brief conclusion, ensuring all prompt requirements are met satisfactorily.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. Information and ideas are generally well sequenced, moving logically from the causes of the trend to its positive effects. Cohesive devices such as 'for instance', 'In adition', and 'This is a positive trend' are used to connect ideas, though paragraphing could be slightly more sophisticated, as the second body paragraph is quite short. Referencing is mostly clear, though occasional mechanical transitions reveal some limitations in cohesive flexibility, aligning comfortably with the Band 6 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'asthetically pleasing', 'ambience', and 'engagement'. However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, including 'asthetics', 'enviroments', 'pictures' (used as 'a good pictures'), 'plateform', 'Adition', 'inflencial', 'titok', and 'gain' (instead of 'gained'). These lexical errors and awkward collocations like 'give their picture a good background' prevent the score from reaching higher bands, reflecting the characteristics of Band 6 where vocabulary is sufficient for communication despite notable spelling inaccuracies.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures such as 'If she did not use a good picture background she might not have much engagement'. There are several grammatical errors and punctuation oversights, including missing capitalisation at the start of sentences ('for instance', 'they also visit', 'she gain'), subject-verb agreement issues ('she gain more followers'), and tense inconsistencies. Despite these errors, meaning is rarely impeded, and the sentence structures show enough variety to meet the criteria for Band 6.
