More and more people nowadays visit well-known places to take photographs of themselves, without looking at the place.

Why do you think this is happening?

Is it a positive or a negative trend?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this contemporary world, in order to take photographs of themselves people visit to eminent places without knowing more about the place they are visiting to. I believe this trend is happening because of low travel cost. This essay will elucidate the reasons behind of this postive trend in extensive manner over subsequent paragraphs.

First of all, the main reason behind of this is lower the travel cost. Now a days, people can able to book flights at cheapest rate and travel to the different part of the world. Citizens only look the rate of specific flight which would be lead them towards their destination and in a mean time people to reach at the tourist place. For example, more number of people travel to Paris to visit Effile Tower traveling cost had been reduced compared to a decade ago.

Further, it is a postive trend. As travelling to famous places, it would give a boost to tourism industry. This trend will provide more number of employment opportunities to local people. For instance, people, who live nearby of Statue of Unity, earn more compared to a person who is working full time as administrative clerk. In addition, it will be easy for travellers to do culture exchange and learn a new language.

To recapitualate, due to the lower travel cost, tourism industry has been affecting postively as well as at the personal level, people can learn new new language and culture as they can communicate with local people and participate in the local cultural events.

However, the logical progression could be smoother, and occasional awkward phrasing in transitions slightly disrupts the flow, placing this text firmly at Band 6.

However, grammatical accuracy is weak, featuring frequent errors such as 'people visit to eminent places without knowing', 'people can able to book', 'flight which would be lead them', and 'people, who live nearby of Statue of Unity'.
