Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this contemporary era, a significant portion of population prefer to explore places which are popular among people, just to capture photographs without bothering the essential details. From my perspective, it is a negative development and this trend has been increased to greater extent which is due to social media and marketing strategies

One of the major reasons is that, owners use engaging advertisement strategies to attract people which is quite succesfull. The social media artists particularly bloggers get a hafty amount to advertise about the place which immediately gets viral due to online media platforms. Consequently, people visit these places beacuse of the aesthetic vibes and vibrant videos which are made with high pixel cameras. Utimately, people gets disappointed when their experience is quite opposite to those which they were exposed through different channels. For example, Most bloggers highlights the amenity and overall menu of resturants without considering the taste which disappoints foodlovers.

Another reason is the strong competition among social influencers who make random photographs and videos of new places to post on their profiles. Consequently, most places which are uptomark in all aspects are prohibitively expensive and everyone cannot afford them. On one side it attract the upper class customers and tourists from different regions which helps in financial benefits. However, on the other side it negatively affects the poor people which are unable to fulfil their baic needs.Ultimately, it creates a competition among affluent and under previleged population which increases the crime rate, so overall it contributes towards negative development.

To conclude, on one side the advertisement are helpful to make people aware about new outlets, however wrong or paid content disappoints many people which effects the overall reputation of the place. In addition to it, it also affects the previliged people as they are unable to visit these places due to high costs

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, exploring the reasons behind the trend of visiting famous places primarily for photographs, and clearly stating a position that it is a negative development. Ideas are generally relevant, such as the influence of social media marketing and influencer competition. However, some of the ideas are slightly tangential or under-developed, particularly when drifting into discussions about food quality or crime rates rather than focusing strictly on the photo-taking phenomenon. The position is maintained throughout, but supporting arguments would benefit from greater depth and direct connection to the core issue of tourists ignoring the actual place in pursuit of a photo. This places the response comfortably at Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at paragraphing, introducing an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is occasionally disrupted by mechanical or faulty cohesive devices. For instance, transitional phrases like 'Consequently' and 'On one side... However, on the other side' are overused and at times misapplied, linking ideas that do not directly follow logically from one another. Referencing can also be unclear, such as pronoun use like 'which they were exposed through different channels.' Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion requires smoother transitions to achieve a higher score.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'contemporary era,' 'prohibitively expensive,' and 'affluent.' However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as 'succesfull' instead of successful, 'hafty' instead of hefty, 'beacuse' instead of because, 'Utimately' instead of Ultimately, 'resturants' instead of restaurants, 'uptomark' instead of up to par, and 'previliged' instead of privileged. These errors do not impede overall communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a Band 6.0 due to inaccuracy in spelling and collocation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and prepositional usage, such as 'a significant portion of population prefer' instead of prefers, 'without bothering the essential details,' 'which are made with high pixel cameras,' and 'people gets disappointed.' Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing periods and commas. While these errors rarely impede overall communication, they prevent the text from reaching a Band 7.0, making Band 6.0 the most appropriate descriptor.
