IELTS Writing Task 2 question

More and more people nowadays visit well-known places to take photographs of themselves, without looking at the place.

Why do you think this is happening?

Is it a positive or a negative trend?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern era, there are very popular sites or places visited by most of individuals to take pictures of themselves instead of looking at the site. It has become a trend in people if our friends or relative go these types of famous places and post on social media, then we also would like to go there even we donot know anything about that place. i would like to go negative side and i will explain it in the upcoming paragraphs.

first of all, there are some negavite reasons, now the first reason is half or lack of knowledge sometimes can be harmful. TO explicate it, most of people like to visit well-known places even they donot have any kind of knowledge about them. sometimes, people face something dangerous that we did not know before. but we go there only for taking some snaps to show our relatives and friends. For example, my friend and his husband went to banff last month. They didnot know anything about banff. they faced some problems during their trip like some roads were blocked, some famous parts of banff were closed because of heavy snow and faced a little car accident.thus, people should have knowledge about the place it very important. without looking the place, taking pictures can be harmful like can slip from the hil and so om.

Furthermore, another reason is feel shame infront of relatives and friends if they ask about that famous place. To elaborate it, as i earlier said people visit well-know places to click pictures only, but donot look the view, famous sites of places. They donot have knowledge about place. if relatives or friends ask them, they feel shame because of lack of knowledge. for example, it happened to my friend, when i asked her about that place, she said she too pictures only. Hence, people need good knowledge about places that would significant.

In conclusion, many places visited by people without good knowledge and without looking the place only go for taking pictures which is not good. something bad can happpen, little bit knowledge it important.
