Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, travelling is very popular among the individual. Many people visiting the famous palce for taking picture and making videos, without exploring and enjoying the destination. This is mainly happens through the influence of social media and according to me its a negative trend.
There are various reasons why this happened. First for Social Media becuase these days everyone loves to spend their time scroling the reels on social apps Like instagram, Tik Tok and facebook. They travel towards therse well known landscapes for taking picture. Then update their photos on these apps for likes and comments. Hence they can earn money and sometime become a ideal for some people.
Another contibuting factor is the desire for social recognition and easily access. To elaborate more, people compare themselves with others online which pushing
them to travel these destination for keep up regarding this trend. People only vist the places because it is trending on the internet not for knowing about the destination. Pics are more important for keeping memories as they thought that they can easily learn about the places from online media.
This trend is very frustating as it reduce the value of places and folks fails to focus on getting the knowlegde about the environment, culture, history and attire of that place as it very important for them. Apart from this. this can lead to overcrowding. peolpe are coming to just take photos and block the paths who wants to gain experiencing regarding landscape.
In conclusion, It happens due to the getting the views and recognition on social media. In my opinion this is a negative trend because people reduce the importance of travel and it can overcowd the palce, this can effect the site and dsitrupt the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt, exploring both the reasons for the trend of visiting famous places solely for photographs and providing a clear position that it is a negative development. In the second and third paragraphs, the writer identifies key drivers such as the influence of social media, the desire for digital recognition, and peer comparison. The final body paragraph elaborates on the negative consequences, such as overcrowding and a diminished appreciation for local culture and history. Although some ideas could be extended further with deeper real-world examples, the overall coverage is solid, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a generally coherent arrangement with clear paragraphing, separating the introduction, reasons, consequences, and conclusion. The writer attempts to guide the reader using transition phrases like 'First for Social Media', 'Another contibuting factor is', and 'In conclusion'. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and awkward, and there are mechanical referencing issues, such as pronoun confusion and abrupt shifts between sentences. Paragraph development lacks smooth transitional flow in places, especially within the body sections where sentences feel disjointed. Overall, the organizational structure is adequate to earn a Band 5.5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting less common terms such as 'contributing factor', 'social recognition', and 'overcrowding'. However, there are frequent word-choice errors, incorrect derivations, and awkward collocations throughout the text, such as 'travelling is very popular among the individual', 'scroling the reels', 'become a ideal', and 'easily access'. Spelling mistakes like 'contibuting', 'frustating', 'knowlegde', and 'overcowd' also appear. While these issues occasionally strain the reader, meaning is generally conveyed, placing the response firmly at Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures frequently contain grammatical inaccuracies. There are recurring issues with subject-verb agreement ('folks fails', 'people are coming... and block'), missing articles ('for taking picture'), incorrect prepositions ('gain experiencing regarding'), and tense consistency. Punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas and periods (e.g., 'Apart from this. this can lead'), are also noticeable. Although the errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty, simple sentences are generally controlled, justifying a Band 5.0.
