Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, most of the individuals visit well-know tourist attraction for taking photos of themselves, without looking at the destination. I will share some reasons and trend below and reach to reasoned conclution.

There are many reasons to support this statemant. The main reason is that people like to travel different places in vacaitions but, they are more intrested to taking photos insted of expereince place. Nowadays, people capture photos because they want to uplod on different social media platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, adn many more. Moreover, the contant creator usally visit place to incress there followers and like. Also, they want to give daily update by share photos with fans. For instance, Virat Kohli is famous cricket player of Indian team so, daily he post picture where he go so, in this way they can get fame from societey. Moreover, Some people like to take pictures for memories. After few years, if they see the photos of themselves so, they remember memorable days. Photos play's vital role for making memories. They wanrt to share to their loved once's. TO kno

From my opinion it is a negative trend because, they are busy in taking photos and selfies with their family members or friends so, they cannot enjoy the place properly. However, every place have their special identity. We can learn culture and tradition of that place by experincing the sites. Moreover, people are busy in clicking pictiue so, they cannot share idea and famous things to others.

To sum up, both get equal important while visiting the place. For memorioes we have do photographs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative, yet the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on why people take photos relies heavily on brief, repetitive statements about social media and memories without sufficient elaboration or concrete personal examples. The position is stated, such as viewing the trend as negative because people fail to enjoy the place properly, but the overall development lacks depth and remains somewhat superficial. To move to a higher band, the writer would need to fully extend their ideas with more detailed explanations and relevant, well-elaborated examples rather than listing points quickly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organisation with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, body points, and conclusion, but the essay lacks a clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are often used mechanically or repetitively, such as the frequent reliance on 'Moreover' and 'Nowadays'. Additionally, referencing and logical transitions between sentences can be unclear or abrupt, as seen in the sudden shift from discussing Virat Kohli to memories without smooth linking. The ending of the first body paragraph also trails off abruptly ('TO kno'), disrupting the flow of ideas. To achieve a higher band, the writer must ensure a more logical progression of thoughts throughout the text and employ a wider, more natural variety of cohesive links without overusing standard transitional markers.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples of lexical slips include 'well-know' instead of 'well-known', 'statemant' instead of 'statement', 'vacaitions' instead of 'vacations', 'intrested' instead of 'interested', 'uplod' instead of 'upload', 'contant' instead of 'content', 'incress' instead of 'increase', 'societey' instead of 'society', 'once's' instead of 'ones', 'pictiue' instead of 'picture', and 'memorioes' instead of 'memories'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary like 'content creator' and 'identity', but spelling and morphological inaccuracies restrict the range. To progress, the student needs to expand their lexical repertoire and eliminate basic spelling and word-formation errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few faulty attempts at complex forms. There are frequent grammatical errors regarding verb forms, tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles. Examples include 'most of the individuals visit' where the article is unnecessary, 'for taking photos' shifting to 'to taking photos' incorrectly, 'every place have their special identity' showing agreement errors, and 'Play's vital role' missing an article. Punctuation errors also appear, such as commas separating subjects from verbs incorrectly. These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader. To reach a higher band, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of complex structures with improved control and accuracy across basic and advanced grammar.
