Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this fast moving world, people are visiting famous places to get themselves clicked without checking out the place. In this essay, I will give two main reasons for this notion and will also cite this notion as a negative trend.

To begin with, people nowadays are just going under pear pressure of staing there wealth in front of there co-workers, friends and relatives. So, in order to show their wealth they usually visit the places known by everyone, take photograph and post them on social media without looking at the place. By doing this, they get a sense of satisfaction that they visit a very famous place. Furthermore, social media is playing a vital role in making a place well-know by other people. Social media is very polular amongst every age group, they can see the posts in their leisure time and start planing to visit the same place. For example: Golden temple is very famous nowadays, every tourist wants to visit this temple and get themselves clicked with the background of the temple.

According to me, this trend is a negative trend. As this is creating a competitive and jealous behaviour amongst people for visiting the same place even if it is not worth visiting. Also, some places which are not under any hype and worth visiting are still undiscovered by many people. People should visit new unknown places to take pictures for their memories rather them clicking for social media.

In a nutshell, people visit only famouse places for clicking photograph is because of showing their wealth on social media, and following the common trend going on social media. However, this imposing a negative impact on a common man who are under the jealous and competitive effect, and some places are remaning undiscove

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by explaining why people photograph famous places without looking at them and clearly stating that this is a negative trend. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. The reasons provided, such as social media influence and peer pressure to display wealth, are relevant, but the elaboration remains somewhat general. For example, mentioning the Golden Temple is a good start, but the explanation of why this happens relies on broad assertions rather than deep extension. To reach a higher level, the ideas would need to be more thoroughly explored with richer explanations and more fully integrated examples throughout the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The text presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance maintained throughout the response. Paragraphing is utilised appropriately to separate the introduction, reasons, viewpoint, and conclusion. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. Devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'In a nutshell' are used to structure the text, but referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'this notion' repeated multiple times consecutively. Additionally, the final sentence cuts off abruptly without completing the thought, disrupting the logical flow and progression. Improving cohesive ties and ensuring complete concluding thoughts would enhance the overall structural clarity.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'satisfaction', 'competitive', and 'undiscovered'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'pear pressure' instead of peer pressure, 'staing' instead of stating, 'there wealth' instead of their wealth, 'well-know' instead of well-known, and 'polular' instead of popular. While these lexical inaccuracies do not completely impede communication, they reflect a limited control over spelling and word forms, preventing the response from achieving a higher level of lexical scoring.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that cause some difficulty for the reader. Issues include subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'people visit only famouse places for clicking photograph' and 'this imposing a negative impact on a common man who are under the jealous and competitive effect'. Punctuation and sentence boundary errors also occur, particularly with run-on phrasing and incomplete clauses near the end of the essay. A greater variety of error-free complex structures and closer attention to grammatical accuracy are needed to improve this criterion.
