Student answer (Band 5.0)
Task 2
Numerous people, nowadays prefers to visit famous places without looking at the exact place. This is a social driven criteria that provokes many folks to follow up the trend.
In my opinion, it is a negative trend as it affects the importance of cultural monuments that people does not like to see.
Firstly, Every heritage ancient palaces, monuments, and other valuable parts of the society holds memories and artefacts. That plays a vital role in every human being's life. As Every community has its own valuable commodities which serves as a beautiful part of our lives. For eg., Farming methods are different from the available sources that we have it now.
Secondly, This technological Era gives tremendous amount of knowledge to society but on the other hand it comes with the disadvantages. For example, photographs are the easiest way to preserve memories for the place that they never see again.Individuals focus only on the time to take some pictures rather than exploring the place
that they visit.
Additionaly, I went to the France with my friend who is a social media influencer ruins my trip because she was making blogs and taking pictures for her youtube channel rather than enjoying the spectacular views of the country with gorgeous architecture and night life .
I firmly, agrees with the statement that it does
affects negatively. As no one likes to go see historical places. And they only follows Social media and to preserve memories without enjoying their real time at the place
where they visited.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt by explaining why people photograph famous places without looking at them and offering an opinion on whether this is a positive or negative trend. However, the ideas are limited and under-developed. For instance, the explanation of the causes remains superficial, relying on general statements about social drivers and technology rather than fully expanded arguments. Similarly, the viewpoint that it is a negative trend is stated clearly enough, but the supporting points lack depth and clear logical expansion. The example regarding the trip to France touches upon personal experience, but it is rushed and does not effectively support the main argument. To reach a higher standard, the response needs to extend and fully develop its ideas with more thorough explanations and relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some basic organisation in the essay, with paragraphs used to separate different points, but there is no clear overall progression from beginning to end. The relationships between ideas are sometimes strained due to inadequate or repetitive use of cohesive devices, such as starting multiple paragraphs and sentences with generic transition words like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Additionaly'. Furthermore, referencing is not always clear, and the internal logical flow within paragraphs is disrupted by abrupt shifts in topic, particularly in the body paragraphs discussing heritage and technology. Paragraphing is present, but the overall structure feels disjointed. To improve, the writer needs to ensure a smoother logical progression between sentences and paragraphs, using a wider and more accurate range of cohesive devices without over-relying on basic sequential markers.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common items, such as 'artefacts', 'commodities', and 'influencer', but these are often accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as 'social driven criteria' instead of 'socially driven phenomenon'. There are also several spelling and lexical slips throughout the text, including 'Additionaly' and 'agrees' used incorrectly as a verb form after 'firmly'. While communication is generally maintained despite these inaccuracies, the vocabulary lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. To progress, the writer should focus on expanding their range of vocabulary, learning correct word collocations, and paying closer attention to spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside frequent attempts at complex structures that are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors in the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('people does not like'), article usage ('went to the France'), plurals ('Every heritage ancient palaces'), and prepositions. Punctuation errors, such as unnecessary commas splitting verb phrases ('I firmly, agrees with the statement'), also occur regularly. These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader and distract from the flow of the writing. To achieve a higher band, the writer must work on improving basic grammatical accuracy, ensuring correct subject-verb agreement and article use, and mastering the construction of complex sentences.
