Student answer (Band 5.5)
Through different forms of print and digital media, we come across reports that in the past, people like to explore dfferent place to see the nature, views and the enviroment. But now the tables have turned, at present people like to visit next and famous places just to take their pictures and post on social media. After seeing this, I would say its a negative trend.
There are hundreds of reason to say its not a good trent. Starting with the first point, the main reason for this trend is social media. By this I mean, People are influenced by social media, they love to post new picture with aesthetic background. Humans visit new places just to showoff their life. In addition to this, Individuals show case their life by posting good things. They visited different places which are much more expensive than their budget. But still, they do visit to prove themself that they are livimg a goodl ife compare to others.
If we talk about the persons who actually wanted to visit and explore that place. They are also not happy due to the people surrounding to them. Nevertheless, the people who are coming just for the photos aremostly on their mobiles phone or on their camera. They forget about the place, family and friends. Their motive is just to get good pictures.
Recently, I had visited a famous tourist attraction place named CABOT TRAIL. The place is actually good for side scene and the view of both mountain and ocean together. There was a young children group who were siding the people to takew their picture. That was not at all good. The innocent humans had also travelled long way to see this place.
To conclude, down the lane, the goverment should ban taking electronic gadgets to all the famous places.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both why people take photos without looking at famous places and identifying this as a negative trend. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack clarity. For example, while the writer mentions social media influence and showing off a lifestyle as reasons, the explanations remain somewhat repetitive and superficial. The personal example regarding the Cabot Trail attempts to illustrate the negative impact on genuine tourists, but the connection is slightly blurred by minor narrative confusions, such as children guiding people to take pictures. A clear position is maintained throughout, though the development of supporting arguments would benefit from greater depth and specific elaboration to fully meet the requirements of a higher tier.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the essay into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is not always clear. For instance, transitional phrases and cohesive devices like 'Starting with the first point' feel overly rigid and formulaic. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion within paragraphs suffers from abrupt shifts in focus, such as moving from general social media behavior to the specific anecdote about the Cabot Trail without a smooth transitional bridge. Pronoun referencing is occasionally ambiguous, making the flow of ideas slightly disjointed in places.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, providing a sufficient range to convey basic ideas, but it is limited in precision and style. The student attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'aesthetic background' and 'tourist attraction place', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling, such as 'dfferent', 'enviroment', 'next and famous places' instead of 'iconic places', and 'side scene' instead of 'scenery'. Spelling errors like 'showcase' written as 'show case', 'livimg', and 'goodl ife' are present. While these lexical slips do not entirely impede communication, they restrict the score due to frequent inaccuracies in word formation and spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing exhibits a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tenses, and agreement, such as 'people like to explore dfferent place' (plural noun needed) and 'people who are coming just for the photos aremostly on their mobiles phone' (article and pluralisation errors). Punctuation and preposition usage also show noticeable lapses, such as missing commas and awkward phrasing like 'travelled long way'. While some sentences are clear, the presence of frequent errors in basic structures as well as attempts at complex forms causes some difficulty for the reader and prevents the writing from achieving a higher level of grammatical control.
