Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify social media and the desire to keep memories as reasons for taking photographs, and you attempt to discuss whether the trend is positive or negative. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: the positive or negative judgement is unclear, since “it is good” is not explained and is followed by advice to research a place before visiting. Several points, such as risks and whether places are suitable for families, are difficult to connect to the question. The response also does not meet the required minimum of 250 words, so there is limited space to explain and support your ideas. State your position clearly, then develop each reason with a specific example and explain its relevance to the trend.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion, and phrases such as “To start with,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” signal stages of the answer. However, the progression between ideas is not consistently clear. For example, the paragraph beginning “On the other hand” discusses recommendations from friends, but the contrast with the previous paragraph is not explained. The paragraph about “ricks” shifts to suitability for families without showing how this answers the question. Some linking phrases feel mechanical, and unclear references such as “there place” make connections harder to follow. Use one paragraph for reasons and another for your evaluation, and connect each sentence explicitly to the main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “social media,” “famous place,” “popular place” and “memories,” so the general subject can be recognised. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling errors make several phrases difficult to understand, such as “photosute,” “racomend” and “concidration.” Some word combinations are also unclear, including “stay opdate” and “take most papular place.” These issues strain the reader and limit the precision of your ideas. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling carefully; for example, use “take photographs at popular destinations” and “share travel experiences online” rather than repeating “take pic” and “show on social media.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to form sentences and use basic connectors, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and the response relies mainly on simple or incomplete structures. Errors in verb forms and sentence construction appear in examples such as “people are take photos” and “they have tray to pic klick new places.” Missing or misplaced punctuation also makes some sentences run together, particularly in the opening paragraph. These problems sometimes obscure the intended meaning. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “People take photographs because they want to share their trips online.” Then add a second, accurately formed sentence to explain each point, checking verb forms and punctuation.
