Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, an increasing number of indviduals visit famous tourist attraction primarily to take photographs of themeselves instead of appreciate the place where they are visting. This trend is mainly driven by social infulencer, those encourge to present their presence online and seek approvel from others. Although taking picthers preserve memories, I believe this developement is prediominatly negative because its often disctract people from history and culture , natural value of their surroundings.
TO Commence with, one major reason for this trend is the growing influnce of social media. Platform such as instagram, facebook, youtube and tiktok motivates users to share images of their lives with friends and followers.Consequently, visting a celebrated landmark may become an opportunity to produce appealing content and attract likes and comments. Furthermore, masses may feel compelled to fashionable destinations. For example, many visitor take picture in front of well known attraction and upload them immediatly, sometimes devoting more time to selecting the idea image than to exploring the site itself.
I consider this a largely undersriable developement. The principle drawback is that visitor may overlook the cultural, historical, and natural impotance of the destination they encounter, Rather than examining the architecture, discovering local hertigae. For instance, a person visting a historical monument might capture sevral images on social media without learing history and its bakground.
In conclusion, this behaviour is primarily driven by soical media, which encourge peope to display their travels online and seek approval from others. While photography can help preserve memories, i regard this tedency as predominatly negative because an excessive emphasis on self potraits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both questions and maintain a clear view that the trend is mainly negative. The explanation that social media encourages people to seek likes and approval is relevant, and the example of spending longer choosing an image than exploring a site helps illustrate the cause. You also explain a consequence: visitors may miss a destination’s cultural and historical significance. However, the negative evaluation is developed more fully than the reasons people do this, and the final paragraph ends with an incomplete thought about excessive emphasis on self-portraits. To strengthen the response, explain the motivations in more depth and complete the conclusion by restating the effect of this behaviour on visitors or places.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on the negative effects, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally logical, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. The cause-and-effect relationship is also clear in the discussion of social media and attention to landmarks. However, some links feel mechanical, and the conclusion repeats the introduction without fully completing its final point. The sentence beginning “Rather than examining the architecture” is not connected smoothly to the preceding sentence, which interrupts progression. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect examples directly to the claims they support; ensure each paragraph develops one complete line of reasoning.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt vocabulary suited to the topic, including “cultural, historical, and natural importance,” “landmark,” “approval,” and “appealing content.” These choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are frequent and sometimes make the reader pause: examples include “indviduals,” “themeselves,” “infulencer,” “approvel,” and “prediominatly.” Some collocations are also awkward, such as “feel compelled to fashionable destinations” and “the idea image.” These issues limit the precision and naturalness of the vocabulary. Proofread spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships, for example “feel compelled to visit” and “the ideal image,” so your range can be used more accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mixture of simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “Although taking pictures…” and a reason introduced by “because.” The main ideas are usually understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “Platform … motivates” has a singular verb with a plural subject, while “many visitor take” needs plural agreement. The phrase “Rather than examining the architecture, discovering local heritage” is a fragment, and the final sentence beginning “because an excessive emphasis” is incomplete. There are also problems with articles and sentence boundaries. Work on checking subject–verb agreement, completing dependent clauses, and ensuring each sentence has a clear main clause; this will make your varied structures more controlled.
