Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent times, there is an ongoing trend of taking phtographs of themselves whenever people visit any places. However, without knowing anything about the place. I believe this trend is getting popular becuse of social media influences, and it is a negative approach.

One of the main disadvantages behind this trend is that social media influence. This is because many people believe whatever they see on the social media platforms and try to imitate it. For example, many people after getting influenced by the social media influencers and they visit place without making any reseach by their own, they just follow whatever they have seen on the Instagram or YouTube reels.

As a result, many people get disappointment after reaching place about where they cannot even stand, how they going to take photographs.therefore, I believe that people need to be aware of the scam that social media spreding all over and they have to search of place before visiting.

Another reason reason behind this approch is that many people belive in doing things instanly. This is because their thinking is different from the othrs as they believe in doing anything without any second thought and they casually make any plans to visit different places to just make memory or to upload that photographs on instagrams. However, they can enjoy the beaty of making any instant decisions, but later they may regrate over their own choices.

In conclusion, this trend is a negative trend as it has mnay negative approches, which people follow without doing any reserch in depth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that the trend is negative and identify social-media influence and impulsive decision-making as reasons. These points are relevant, and the example of people copying Instagram or YouTube content helps illustrate the first reason. However, the response only partly develops the task: the explanation of why people take photos of themselves rather than notice the place is not fully explored, and the second reason is vague. The claim that visitors may be disappointed because they cannot “even stand” at a place is difficult to understand and is not clearly linked to the trend. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation and a specific example, and make the negative effects more precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its basic structure. The paragraphs also broadly separate the two reasons. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and linking phrases are sometimes repetitive or awkward. For example, “This is because” is used repeatedly, while “As a result” introduces an outcome that is hard to follow. The sentence beginning “For example, many people after getting influenced…” contains several ideas without clear connections. Use a more direct sequence—reason, explanation, example, consequence—and ensure each sentence clearly refers to the previous one. This would make the organisation more coherent and reduce the effort needed to follow your argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “social media platforms,” “influencers,” “imitate,” and “instant decisions,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to understand. Phrases such as “social media is spreading a scam,” “get disappointment,” and “negative approaches” do not express your intended meaning naturally. There are also repeated misspellings, including “phtographs,” “becuse,” and “reseach.” Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling carefully. For instance, explain that visitors may be influenced by idealised online images or may feel disappointed when a destination does not match what they expected.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to use both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “as,” but control is inconsistent. Several sentences are incomplete or contain faulty structures: “However, without knowing anything about the place” is a fragment, and “many people after getting influenced … and they visit” does not form a clear grammatical sentence. Other examples include “how they going to take photographs” and “they may regret over their own choices,” where verb forms or sentence patterns are incorrect. Punctuation also causes problems, particularly in “photographs.therefore.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check verb forms, articles and punctuation when editing.
