Student answer (Band 5.5)

it is irrefutable that many people, nowadays, visit famous places to take photographs of themselves without looking at the place. According to my opinion, it is negative trend as it leads to cultural exploitation and inconvenience to forien tourist and local people.

One of the primary reasons why this trend is gradually increasing is that the over use of social media by people. Nowadays, it is becoming a common fashion among the people to take a famous places's photographs of themselves and upload on the social media because people may feel a sense of pride when other social media users like their photographs.Secondly, the new technological gadgets are playing a predominant role in this phenomenon. Because, every phones is equipped with the high quality camera, it is become an extremely convenient for mortals to capture photographs at any time.

There are several reasons who describe this trend as a negative development. Frstly, it leads to a cultural exploitation.Certainly, the famous palces are well known for their cultural, religious and historical importance. Instead of going there with the purpose of seeking information about the famous places, people are wasteing their valueable time in taking photographs. As a result, they would not interact with the local people which further dimnish the cultural importance of the famous places. Finally, it also create a inconvenience for local and foreign tourist. When people take photographs, they often accidently capture the photographs of the other individuals.Thereby, other peoples privacy are deteriorating and it can be an inconvenient for them.

In conclusion, taking photographs of themselves at well-known places is negative development as it is threat to local cultural and other people privacy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your response addresses both questions: you identify social media and camera-equipped phones as reasons, and clearly state that you view the trend negatively. The points about cultural engagement and other people’s privacy are relevant, with some explanation of how photographing oneself can distract visitors or capture bystanders. However, the development is uneven: the social-media explanation is clearer than the point about technology, which mainly says phones make photography convenient. The claim that the trend causes “cultural exploitation” is also not fully explained; clarify how visitors’ behaviour affects the site or its culture. A specific example would make the reasoning more convincing and fully support your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, a paragraph outlining negative effects, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “One of the primary reasons,” “Secondly,” and “Finally” help signal the stages of your argument. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, with several points introduced through formulaic transitions rather than linked through explanation. Some connections are unclear, particularly the move from not interacting with local people to “diminish the cultural importance” of a place. There are also sentence-boundary and spacing problems that interrupt the flow. Develop clearer links between each claim and its consequence, and use referencing and transitions more precisely.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “cultural,” “historical importance,” “social media,” and “privacy,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “predominant role.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, for example “forien,” “palces,” “wasteing,” and “dimnish.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “cultural exploitation,” “a famous places's photographs,” and “a inconvenience.” These choices can make parts of the argument harder to follow, even though the general meaning is usually clear. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; a smaller set of well-controlled expressions will communicate your ideas more effectively than ambitious but imprecise phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “Because” and a conditional sentence about what may happen when visitors take photographs. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “every phones is equipped,” “it is become,” “it also create,” and “other peoples privacy are.” The opening phrase “According to my opinion” also shows difficulty with grammatical patterns. Punctuation and sentence boundaries need attention, particularly the fragment beginning “Because” and missing spaces after full stops. Practise building accurate clauses first, then extend them with subordinate clauses and check subject–verb agreement.
