Student answer (Band 5.5)

The majority of people recently visit a popular destinations to capture their own photographs, without enough information about that place. this is because people want to experience some new adventurous and unique places. I think it is a negative development because people may face serious health issues and unexpected situations.

the main reason of visiting unknown places by many people to capture their pictures is that they want to explore new places and different culture. By visiting to places which are totally unknown can sometimes give an opportunity to people for experience the sense of satisfaction and unique background pictures to attract more visitors. For example, people visit to any hidden place without knowing about it, it gives some unique experience and remember it by the photos in their future. Therefore, visiting to new places without look for it give some special feeling happiness and excitement among the visitor while taking the pictures.

I think it is a negative trend as visiting to new places without any research and information can be difficult to survive for people who have health issues. For example, people visit the place where people needs to carry their oxygen because the place is at the excessive height where they can not get enough oxygen easily. As a result, they may need to face some emergency concerns and sometime it can be risky. Moreover, some places are not in good weather conditions all the time. Therefore, people may face unexpected weather changes and health issues by taking risk to visit places without familiar with it.

In conclusion, recently many people prefer to visit popular destination just for to take pictures of themselves without knowing that it is suitable for them or not and what things need to carry with them. It can be unique experience for some of them while many people have to face serious heath problem and has to face unexpected circumstances.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions: you explain that people seek adventure, new cultures and distinctive photographs, and you clearly judge the trend negatively because of health risks and unexpected conditions. The examples about high-altitude locations and changing weather are relevant and help support your position. However, the explanation of why people focus on taking photographs rather than appreciating the place is only partly developed; the response mainly discusses visiting unfamiliar destinations. Some points, such as the “sense of satisfaction” and attracting visitors, are mentioned but not fully explained. To strengthen the response, connect the reasons more directly to the behaviour in the prompt and develop each example with a clearer explanation of its consequences.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the reasons and your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to identify. You also use linking expressions such as “For example,” “As a result,” and “Moreover.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive or mechanical. In the first body paragraph, several sentences repeat the idea of visiting unfamiliar places for a special experience, while links such as “Therefore” do not always introduce a distinct consequence. Some references are also unclear, including “it gives some unique experience,” where the pronoun’s meaning is imprecise. Group related points, avoid repeating the same claim, and use clearer references to improve flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “adventurous,” “unique,” “health issues,” “emergency,” and “weather conditions,” so the reader can understand the main ideas. There are also attempts to express less common concepts, such as “sense of satisfaction” and “unexpected circumstances.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive: “new adventurous” and “excessive height” do not sound natural in context, and “visit” and “places” recur frequently. Some expressions, such as “remember it by the photos,” are difficult to interpret precisely. Aim for more natural combinations and vary repeated nouns and verbs; for example, use “remote destinations” or “document their visit” where appropriate. These refinements would make your meaning more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “where,” and “while,” and your overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in sentence formation, articles, agreement, and verb patterns. For example, “The majority of people recently visit a popular destinations” has problems with tense and singular/plural agreement, while “the main reason … is that” is missing a clear grammatical subject structure in the original sentence. Other examples include “people needs to carry” and “without look for it.” Capitalisation and punctuation also need attention, as the sentence beginning “this is because” starts with a lowercase letter. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns before adding more complex clauses.
