Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, increasing number of tourists to well know places only for taking photographs. This is mainly because of social media and reels trends. In my opinion, this is the negative trend because people fail to experiences real values of the place.

One major reason for only taking photographs of themselves because of popular social media trends. For example, people visited to well known places to get their own pictures and post those memories on social media platforms like facebook and instgram. However, they get likes and comments. Due to this they get famous As result,Others follow them while visiting some places tourists mainly focus on themselves instead of experiences the history of that places.

I believe this is a negative development because people miss cultural and historical knowledge of that particular famous places. For instance, people visited to same place like tajmahal. Spending lot of times in taking a pictures of themselves, However, paying no attention on the architecture, history and local culture of that place. Therefore, although people takes pictures for create memories on trip furthermore, they have to pay attention on history of that places to increase travel experiences.

In conclusion, taking selfie or group photos to creates a memorable trip to post and share with friends. However, while taking photos we should read about the history of that places too to boarden our horizons. Which later on create tourism for that places. If we include about the history and local cultural of that particular place including our photos and post on insta reels which not only increase your likes but also helps on increasing popularity of that place for tourist and for themselves too.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions: you explain that social-media attention and the desire for likes encourage people to take selfies, and you clearly judge the trend negatively because visitors may miss a place’s history and culture. The Taj Mahal example supports this position and is relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that visitors become famous and others then follow them could be developed by showing how online posts shape travel choices. Your conclusion also introduces a more balanced suggestion—that visitors can take photos while learning about the site—which is useful but not fully reconciled with your negative judgement. Develop the cause-and-effect reasoning and make the final position consistently clear.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on the cause and the negative effects, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through your answer, and examples are placed near the ideas they support. However, connections between sentences are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “However, they get likes and comments. Due to this they get famous As result” has faulty punctuation and an abrupt sequence, while “although… furthermore” does not clearly express the relationship between the ideas. Some references, such as “that places,” are also unclear. Use linking words only when their meaning fits, and make each paragraph’s main point and supporting explanation connect more smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “social media platforms,” “historical knowledge,” “architecture,” and “local culture.” These terms help communicate your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make parts of the response awkward or less precise. Phrases such as “well know places,” “real values of the place,” and “increase travel experiences” do not express the intended meaning naturally. There are also spelling errors in “instgram” and “boarden,” and repeated use of “place” and “taking photographs.” Build a wider set of accurate expressions for tourism, cultural heritage, and online influence, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause (“because people fail…”) and a contrast with “although.” However, sentence structures are often incomplete or inaccurately formed, which sometimes makes the reader work to understand the point. The opening, “In recent years, increasing number of tourists…,” lacks a complete main clause. Other examples include “people visited to well known places,” “people takes pictures,” and “to creates a memorable trip,” where verb forms, agreement, or sentence patterns need correction. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, particularly in “As result,Others follow them.” Practise building complete sentences first, then check subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms.
