Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, incresing number of people are visiting a famous places to capture photographs of themselves without seeing that place. There are number of reasons behind this trend and I belive this trend is negetive. I will discuss reasons for this trend in upcoming paragraphs.

Firstly, social media can influence people to visit places. To explain it further, people nowadays overusing social media and see other persons post related to trips. After seeing that type social media post, people are luring to visit that same place to take photographs and upload that photographs to social media plateforms for showcasing thier wealthy status. For example, people visit Burj khalifa by showing other person or social influencers visited that place. As a result, by blindly following social influencers, they might spend unnecessary expenses just to show up in the social media plateforms such as Facebook and Instagram.

Secondly, financial freedom is also key factor behind this negetive trend. Today youth are living freely without guidance of thier parents. Young generation is a very sensitive generation whom influence very quickly with the use social media. They are visiting well-known place and capturing photographs to upload in social media platforms because of following peer pressure. consequenly, with time they may become unfocused with thier study and divert thier focus on visiting places to updates thier social media plateforms. Moreover, young might invlove in crimes such as pickpocketing and shoplifting to fulfill thier financial need to visit famous places.

In conclusion, visting well-known places to gather photos for themselves is negetive trend as it can make unncessasry expenses to family budjets and diverts youth of nation to wrong direction.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions: social-media influence and peer pressure are offered as reasons, and your position that the trend is negative is clear in the introduction and conclusion. The examples of visiting the Burj Khalifa and spending money to post online help make the first reason relevant. However, some claims are asserted rather than explained, particularly the suggestion that young people may turn to pickpocketing or shoplifting; this connection needs credible support or a more realistic explanation. The second reason also overlaps with the first, since both focus on social media and its influence. Develop the causes more distinctly and explain more fully why taking photos prevents visitors from appreciating a place.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and examples are generally placed alongside the relevant points. However, the linking can feel mechanical, and some connections between ideas are not fully clear. For instance, the move from financial freedom to young people committing crimes is abrupt, while “As a result” does not clearly identify which preceding idea it refers to. The two body paragraphs also repeat the focus on social media. Use more precise referencing and develop a clearer distinction between the reasons to strengthen the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “social media,” “peer pressure,” “financial freedom,” and “well-known places.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “showcasing their wealthy status.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less natural: “people are luring to visit,” “social media plateforms,” and “make unnecessary expenses” are examples. Spelling errors such as “incresing,” “belive,” and “negetive” are noticeable and reduce precision. Build a bank of accurate phrases for describing motivation, spending and tourism, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “they might spend unnecessary expenses” and a relative clause in “a sensitive generation whom influence very quickly.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but grammatical control is inconsistent. Examples include missing or incorrect articles in “a famous places” and “also key factor,” subject–verb problems in “people nowadays overusing,” and errors in verb patterns such as “to updates their social media.” Some sentences also have unclear or awkward construction, particularly the sentence about young people being influenced. Practise article use, agreement, and verb forms, then proofread each sentence to ensure its subject and main verb are clear.
