Student answer (Band 5.5)
A number of people are increasingly visiting well-known places to click pictures of themselves rather paying attention to the essence of the place. This essay will discuss as to why this is a negative trend and the reasons why this trend is gaining popularity.
I believe one of the biggest reason is influence from social media. With the advent of social media and technology the world has become more closely-knit than ever before.Consequently, people can easily adapt latest fashion trends from around the world. Taking photographs in famous places is one of those trends. Social media users seem to feel the compulsion to confirm to the mordern fashion trends in the market. For instance, when ever a song is released in the market it immediately gains public attention as every one starts making reels on it.It might be due to the innate desire of one to make better content than the other. Another contributing factor could be the peer pressure. People often want to explore new places not because of its historical or cultural significance but because one of their colleagues went there nad had some fantastic clicks.
This trend is negative in terms of ignorance of the true essence of the place and an increase in mental stress among social media users. In the past, people were more interested in the historial and cultural aspects of a place. They use to appreciate the art and architecture but nowadays visits are more like a photography sessions. Moreover, the competition between social media users world wide to gain views on thier content is also contributing to significant mental stress and related health issues for example anxiety.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions: social-media influence and peer pressure are offered as causes, and you clearly judge the trend negatively because visitors overlook cultural significance and may experience stress. These are relevant ideas, but the explanation and support are uneven. The social-media point is illustrated with people making reels after a song is released, which is only indirectly connected to photographing famous places; a more specific example would strengthen the link. The peer-pressure idea is also introduced but not explored. Your negative effects are clearer, though the claim about mental-health problems needs fuller explanation. The response therefore covers the task, but some ideas remain limited or unclear rather than being consistently developed and supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, and a paragraph describing negative effects. Linking expressions such as “Consequently,” “For instance,” and “Moreover” help show relationships between ideas. However, progression within the body paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. The example about a song and reels interrupts the explanation of why people photograph landmarks, and the final sentence begins a new point but is cut off, leaving the response without a proper conclusion. Some connections are also repetitive, particularly the repeated references to social media and trends. Organise each paragraph around one main point, connect examples directly to it, and finish with a concise conclusion that restates your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “historical or cultural significance,” “peer pressure,” “innate desire,” and “mental stress.” These choices allow you to discuss both causes and consequences, and the meaning is generally clear. There are, however, several inaccurate or awkward choices that reduce precision: “confirm to” should be “conform to,” “fantastic clicks” is not a natural phrase for photographs, and “photography sessions” is less suitable than “photo opportunities” or “photo shoots” in this context. Spelling errors such as “mordern,” “thier,” and “historial” also detract from control. Aim for natural collocations and proofread carefully, especially for commonly used words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including cause-and-effect sentences beginning “With the advent of…” and a contrast introduced by “but nowadays.” Most ideas remain understandable, but errors in sentence construction and punctuation are noticeable. For example, “one of the biggest reason is” has a singular/plural agreement problem, while “People often want to explore new places not because of its…” has unclear agreement and reference. Several sentences run together without spaces after full stops, and the final sentence is incomplete. There are also awkward patterns such as “rather paying attention” and “They use to appreciate,” which need grammatical correction. Check agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries, then revise complex sentences to ensure each is complete and clear.
