Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, it is obvious that people are exploring new tourist places to take some photographs of their family either by searching those places or without searching them. There are numerous reasons behind that and I think it has a negative trend which I would like to explain in the upcoming paragraphs.

The first and foremost reason is the time shortage as individuals do not have enough time to explore the places where they want to go with their family due to their hectic schedule or extra work load. Consiquently, they left so many places around that area to explore because of improper planning. Moreover, social media is on peak trend in these days and most of the youngsters are following their role model. Hence, they are trying to copy them and search the same place where their favourite influencer are going without any search about that place such as activities, special food, clothing trend and so on. As a result, they may not enjoy their trip according to their expectation which can directly depend on their future trips.

On the other hand, visiting well-known places without looking them could have negative trend on the whole trip, as the weather is changing immidiately without giving any warning due to increasing pollution in the world. So, if anybody is going to explore famous place, they should search about the best time to visit this place in order to avoid any bad weather or look the beauty of that place and click some pictures. Also, sometimes there is a restriction board at the place to prohibit clicking photographs to keep their places private, but individuals do not read any guidelines properly and they might have to pay the expensive fine which can ruin their whole trip.

To sum up, searching new tourist places and taking some photos are the best practice, but it is important to read all the guidelines or planning before visiting any well-known place.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you identify limited time and social-media influence as reasons, and you state that the trend is negative. The examples about copying influencers and missing information about weather or photography restrictions are relevant. However, the response does not fully explain the specific behaviour in the prompt—taking selfies at famous places without paying attention to the place itself. Some points instead shift to visiting places without researching them, which is related but not quite the same issue. The negative judgement is also supported mainly by practical problems, while the effect of prioritising photographs over experiencing a destination is left unexplored. Develop that central idea and explain how each reason leads to the behaviour for a fuller response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Hence,” and “To sum up” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is not always clear: the first paragraph moves from time pressure to copying influencers, then to disappointment on future trips, without fully connecting these points. The second paragraph begins “On the other hand,” although it continues to support the negative view rather than presenting a contrasting position. Some references, such as “that area” and “their places,” are also unclear. Organise each body paragraph around one main point, use transitions that accurately show the relationship, and make references explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “tourist places,” “social media,” “influencer,” “guidelines,” and “restriction board.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “hectic schedule” and “improper planning.” However, several word choices and collocations are noticeably inaccurate or unnatural, which makes parts of the argument less clear. For example, “social media is on peak trend” and “negative trend on the whole trip” do not express the intended meanings naturally; “weather is changing immediately” is also an awkward description. Spelling errors such as “Consiquently” and “immidiately” further affect accuracy. Build a more precise range for discussing motivations and impacts, and check spelling and common word partnerships.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “as,” “because,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, complex structures are often not controlled accurately. In “they left so many places,” the tense does not fit the general explanation, and “their favourite influencer are going” has a subject–verb agreement error. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction, as in “search about the best time to visit this place” and “planning before visiting.” Some long sentences combine several ideas, making the grammatical relationships difficult to follow. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them; check tense consistency, agreement, articles and punctuation when revising.
