Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, nost of the people visit to famous places to take photographs of themselves, not enjoyed the real beauty of places. I think it has negative development because people miss the real experience of visiting places.

There are several reasons for people to taking photograps. Firstly, there are many social media applications which is most used by individuals such as instagram, whatsapp and facebook. These applications are popular. People upload their photos for likes, comments and views. It upgrades their profile interesting. Moreover, the people make memories to taking photographs with their family or friends . Secondly, to taking photograph, this trend increasing day by day beacuse many people make it business and make money from it. For illustration, the influencers used social media application to upload the photos therefore it became a source of income.

In my view, this is mainly a negative trend because people cannot fully enjoyed the real beauty of places, historical information and culture when they are busy using their mobile phones. They cannot enjot the importance of place. Moreover, taking photographs in crowded places can disturb the other visitors. Sometimes, to taking selfies and make themselves in danger on risky places such as moutains, rivers and lakes.

In consequences, it has mainly negative trend. People used to taking photographs and cannot fully enjoyed the real beauty, historical knowledge and learn something new. It also disturb others and distract them. To taking phographs and make memories with friends and family are good and share it with friends. It is also useful for tourists for the references to visit places again.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions: you identify social media, the desire for likes and comments, memory-making, and influencer income as reasons, then clearly judge the trend mainly negative. Your points about missing a place’s beauty and cultural or historical value, disturbing other visitors, and taking risks are relevant. This fits a response that covers the task, although some ideas are more fully addressed than others. For example, the social-media explanation is clearer than the point about people making it a business, which would benefit from a specific example of how photographing oneself generates income. Your final paragraph also introduces benefits of sharing photos and revisiting places, but does not fully explain how these qualify your negative position. Develop and connect these points more explicitly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction gives your position, the next paragraph explains causes, and the following paragraph presents disadvantages. Linking expressions such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Moreover,” and “In my view” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and the conclusion repeats earlier claims rather than bringing the argument together. The final sentence, which says photographs can be useful for future visits, arrives without a clear link to the preceding negative judgement. Some references are also unclear, such as “It upgrades their profile interesting,” where the reader has to infer what “it” refers to. Use clearer referencing and vary how you connect related ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “social media applications,” “influencers,” “source of income,” “historical information,” and “crowded places.” These choices make your main ideas understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors make the expression less natural, as in “nost,” “photograps,” “enjoyt,” and “moutains.” Phrases such as “make memories to taking photographs” and “negative development” do not express the intended meaning idiomatically. There is also repetition of “taking photographs” and “real beauty.” Build a wider set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and collocations; this will make your meaning clearer and more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason-and-result structure in “because people cannot fully enjoyed…” and a relative clause in “applications which is most used…”. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, infinitives, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “people to taking” should use an infinitive form, “applications which is” has a plural subject, and “people cannot fully enjoyed” needs the base verb after “cannot.” Some sentences are also incomplete or awkwardly joined, particularly “Sometimes, to taking selfies and make themselves in danger…”. Practise accurate verb patterns and agreement, then proofread each sentence for a complete subject–verb structure.
