Student answer (Band 6.0)

This had been a great concern in people nowadays that many visitors go to famous places just for their photographs without enjoying the place. Tourism is very trendy these days it has both benefits and drawbacks. I would share my opinion on this behalf why people do that and also that it is really disappointing to do such thing.

First and foremost, visiting such places with beautiful and astonished sceneries which were the reason of their popularity individuals should admire and acknowledge the place rather taking just photographs. They should explore the place get history how did it made and what the reason behind it or just simply enjoy the nature tremendous beauty its self. For instance, individuals went to Paris bridge and just take photographs or videos of themselves and come back hone. They do not enjoy the view of lights or the tower that how magnificently it made. In result, it is quite disappointing that peoples only have budget arranged trips just to have photographs of themselves at that place. It has becoming a negative trend due to this reason that mostly people following.

Secondly, the main reason for this is that in this social media world everyone wanted to be in trend and posts that they visited the trendy places often. These social media had made individuals to just have a virtual enjoyment rather the real one. The likes and commenting give them excitement in ignorance to actual enjoy the place. For example, an influencer visits a famous Caffe in Italy for posting a reel on Instagram and ordered coffee and pastry just for pictures but did not actually like it and waste it. Moreover, individuals influenced by these influencers visit the place to be in trend and did not actually like the place.

In conclusion to this, I believe that visiting famous places is a exciting activity if people enjoy the views and the places instead of just having photographs. They should take photograph for memory but one or two is enough. Also the trend thing should be emitted from peoples mentality which in result they can actually enjoy life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both questions: you explain that social media, trends, likes and influencer posts motivate people to photograph themselves, and you clearly judge the behaviour as negative when it replaces experiencing a place. The examples of Paris and an Italian café help make these points relevant. Your position is also reinforced in the conclusion, where you allow that photographs can preserve memories but argue that people should enjoy the surroundings too. To strengthen the response further, develop the first paragraph’s explanation of why this behaviour is disappointing: the point about “budget arranged trips” is not fully explained, and the Paris example focuses more on what visitors miss than on the consequences. More precise development across both reasons would make the argument more consistently convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting the negative effects and the social-media cause, and a conclusion that restates your view. Sequencing phrases such as “First and foremost,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the stages easy to follow, while examples are placed alongside the relevant ideas. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. The opening moves from the concern to tourism’s general benefits and drawbacks without clearly linking that point to the question. Phrases such as “In result” and “In conclusion to this” also sound mechanical, and “this reason” in the first body paragraph has an unclear reference. Use simpler transitions and make each sentence’s link to the preceding idea explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “sceneries,” “virtual enjoyment,” “influencer,” “trend,” and “magnificently,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “astonished sceneries” does not convey beautiful scenery, “get history” is unclear, and “budget arranged trips” is difficult to interpret. There are also spelling and word-form problems, such as “hone” for “home” and “Caffe” for “café.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than more elaborate wording—for example, “admire the scenery,” “learn about the site’s history,” and “a carefully planned trip.” This would make your vocabulary more reliable and fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “which” and “that,” and you use a paragraph-level range of sentence lengths. However, control is inconsistent, especially in longer sentences, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “visiting such places … individuals should admire” lacks a clear grammatical connection, while “These social media had made” and “it has becoming” show problems with verb forms and tense. There are also errors in agreement and sentence construction, as in “everyone wanted” and “the main reason for this is that … everyone wanted.” Work on building complete clauses, maintaining consistent tense, and checking subject–verb agreement. More accurate sentence patterns would help your ideas come through clearly.
