Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both questions: social media is identified as the main reason, and you clearly judge the trend negatively. The explanation that friends’ praise creates a “race” for better photographs is relevant, while the example of young people falling from a cliff supports your concern about safety. This meets the task well, but the two parts are not equally developed: the causes are explained more clearly than the broader effects on visitors and places. The conclusion also gives advice rather than fully summarising your position. To strengthen the response further, explain how photo-taking changes people’s experience of a destination and develop the example’s connection to the trend more explicitly. Your position is clear throughout, though some ideas need fuller support and precision.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an explanation of causes, a paragraph on negative effects, and a conclusion. The progression from social-media influence to competition for photographs and then to safety concerns is generally logical. However, links between ideas can feel abrupt, and some references are unclear. For example, “During this transition” does not specify exactly what transition is meant, while “In a rise of social media” is an awkward opening that makes the relationship between paragraphs less smooth. The conclusion’s instruction to “do not spoil it” also shifts suddenly from discussion to direct advice. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports; this would make the overall progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “social media,” “showcasing,” “appraisal,” “peaceful,” and “influencers.” These choices help communicate the causes and consequences of the trend, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, such as “appriciated,” “prioty,” “renouned,” and “photography gears.” Phrases such as “living in it more than real life” and “get more appraisal” are understandable but not idiomatic, which limits precision. Aim to use familiar collocations accurately before reaching for more elaborate wording. Proofreading spelling and choosing natural phrases such as “seek approval” or “photography equipment” would make your meaning clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect explanation and a relative clause in “a place which help them.” The main ideas remain understandable, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “people and their camera,” “the phone cameras gets better,” and “some youngsters, try,” which show problems with number agreement and sentence construction. The sentence beginning “During this transition” also contains an unclear structure around “gets changed form look around.” Work on subject–verb agreement, articles and plurals, and build longer sentences around a clear main clause. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied attempts easier to read.
