Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response gives a clear overall opinion in the conclusion: “I think that is positive,” and it includes relevant points about learning about other cultures and the risks of leaving children unattended. However, it only minimally answers the question about why people focus on taking photographs of themselves rather than looking at the place. Most of the discussion describes visiting attractive destinations generally, rather than explaining the selfie-taking behaviour—for example, there is no developed point about social media, sharing images, or wanting to record an experience. The positive/negative judgement is also not fully supported, as the paragraph about danger and lack of interest in local culture is not clearly connected to the final positive view. Develop both parts of the prompt directly and explain how each example supports your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic paragraph structure, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Finally” help the reader recognise stages in the response. The conclusion also makes the writer’s general position visible. However, progression between ideas is often unclear: the second paragraph moves from family visits and scenery to cultural learning without explaining the links, while the next shifts to children being left alone and then to people in the countryside who do not travel. Some linking phrases are used mechanically, and “On other hand” does not clearly connect the point that follows. Group related ideas into focused paragraphs, use pronouns and transitions to show how points relate, and ensure each paragraph advances the answer to the two questions.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “tourists,” “culture,” “scenery,” “journey,” and “civilization,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is basic and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes meaning difficult to follow. For example, “visit to enthusiastic area” does not express the intended idea clearly, and “positive thoughts those are visit to another place” is hard to interpret. “Photog” is also an unsuitable shortened form in this context. Aim for precise phrases connected to the prompt, such as “take selfies at landmarks,” “share photographs online,” and “focus on the camera rather than the surroundings.” Check spelling and use natural combinations of words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writing attempts both short statements and some longer sentences, and basic meaning is often recoverable. However, sentence structures are limited, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently. Examples include “for take photo,” “There are beautiful scenery,” “It has useful for every person,” and “they are not go anywhere.” The opening also contains a sentence fragment: “Because this location is soo beautiful and attractive.” These problems sometimes obscure the intended relationships between ideas. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check verb patterns after prepositions, singular/plural agreement, and the use of articles. More accurate control of these basic forms is needed before adding more complex structures.
