Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays people are only visiting places to capture themselves in a photo and not taking a moment to explore that place. I believe that this is a negative effect, as we are losing interest in the place, art and the history behind it.

To to begin with, now with the increasing usage of internet , people are more and more trend to follow trending things and want to become an influancer. Where their are not keen to take interet in the historical places to get education but just to take photos and upload it on social media. For instance, i have recently visited torbermory and i have notice that most of the people were not interested in the history or take a few seconds to read the posters but they are standing in a line for almost an hour to take their photograph on the flower pot island.

Additionally, It has also become a risk of life. The craze of getting photograph at specific areas like mountains and falls . The authorities have to put ban on certain areas for visitor as their have been too many incidant for people falling and losing their life. Recently in India a young boy lost his life while taking his picture on the mountain in pune .

To concule, people should take more interest in the place history, explore the place and learn story behind it. People should appriciate the art of an artice by buying ot knowing the struggle of his work rather than just taking a picture.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider the trend negative because people overlook a place’s art and history. You address both questions by linking social-media influence and the desire to become an influencer to photo-taking, then explaining the safety risks with examples from Tobermory and India. These relevant examples help support your view. The response covers the task well overall, but the reasons are not equally developed: the social-media point is explained, while the safety paragraph focuses mainly on accidents and could more directly explain how this risk relates to the trend as a whole. The conclusion gives sensible advice, though it could briefly restate why the trend is negative. Further explanation of the causes and consequences would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and a conclusion offers a recommendation. The sequence from social-media pressure to physical danger is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Additionally” and “To conclude” help identify the stages of the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Where their are not keen…” does not connect grammatically or logically to the preceding sentence, and the opening of the second body paragraph, “The craze of getting photograph…,” is a fragment rather than a developed transition. Use complete topic sentences and clearer links between claims and examples. This would make the progression smoother and reduce the reader’s need to infer how some points relate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “historical places,” “social media,” “authorities,” and “losing their life,” and you attempt more specific expressions such as “the struggle of his work.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas, but control is uneven and some choices are inaccurate or unclear. Examples include “more and more trend to follow trending things,” “take interet,” and “art of an artice”; repetition of “take a photo” also limits variety. Spelling errors such as “influancer,” “incidant,” and “appriciate” are noticeable and can distract the reader. Aim for accurate collocations and a wider set of precise terms, such as “seek social-media attention” or “learn about a site’s heritage,” rather than repeating general wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including the opening explanation with “as” and the example introduced by “For instance.” However, the range is limited, and errors recur in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “To to begin with” contains an unnecessary repetition, while “Where their are not keen…” is an incomplete and incorrectly formed clause. “The authorities have to put ban” also lacks an article, and “most of the people … were not interested … but they are standing” shifts tense within the same account. The sentence beginning “The craze of getting photograph…” is a fragment. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check tense consistency and articles when editing.
