Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that in recent days most of individuals visited renowened attractions to click pictures of themselves, without exploring that particular place. Availability of social media platforms due advancement in techonlogy is the main reason behind this trend. I believe it is negative which i will briefly expalin in the subsequent paragraphs.
The predominant reason of capturing pictures of ourselves is availability of social media apps. Precisely, Instagram, facebook, snapchat and tiktok these kind of apps are used by individuals and they post their pictures on their accounts to get more likes and comments on their pictures because of the popularity of that particular where they click the photographs. Eventually, they may get more fan followers and can earn money through more likes. For instance, Famous punjabi singer sharry maan post his photograph in front of toronto cn tower to get more likes from his back country.
However, I opine it is negative trend. The dominant reason behind it is disrespect of nature. To explain it, indivduals are not enjoying the nature, ignoring the actual value of that particular place. For example, Taj mahal in India every year visited by thousands of people but report showed that 70% of did not know the history of that place. Consequently, humans may waste their time and money to just show off in front of others.
To conclude, influence from social media platforms is the root cause of this trend. According to my prespective this is negative trend because of disrespect of natural places and wastage of precious time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions: social media is identified as the cause, and you clearly state that the trend is negative. The examples of people seeking likes and the Taj Mahal help make your position relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that visitors’ behaviour shows “disrespect of nature” would be stronger if you explained how taking photographs prevents them from appreciating or protecting a place. The singer example is specific, but its link to the wider trend could be made clearer. Develop the consequences and explain the connection between social-media attention and visitors’ choices more fully to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining the cause, a paragraph giving your view, and a conclusion. The progression from social media to the negative effects is easy to follow, and signposts such as “For instance” and “To conclude” help guide the reader. This is a coherent arrangement, though some linking is mechanical and a few references are unclear. In “the popularity of that particular where they click the photographs,” the reader cannot readily identify what “that particular” refers to. The second body paragraph also moves quickly from lack of appreciation to wasted time and money. Use clearer references and connect each consequence explicitly to the main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “social media platforms,” “attractions,” “popularity,” and “history,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “predominant reason.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, which limits precision: “click pictures” is less natural than “take photographs,” and “fan followers” is redundant. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “renowened,” “techonlogy,” and “prespective.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding your main ideas, but they weaken the overall control of vocabulary. Focus on accurate collocations and proofread spelling, especially in key topic words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a contrast introduced by “However.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction, verb forms, articles, and agreement. For example, “most of individuals visited” needs a determiner and a tense suited to a general trend, while “every year visited by thousands” is missing a subject and auxiliary verb. The sentence beginning “Precisely, Instagram…” is also not a complete, well-formed sentence. Practise building complete clauses and checking subject–verb structure, articles, and tense; this will make your varied sentence attempts more accurate.
