Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern world, most of the people visit the famous places to take the images of themselves, which they do not look the place. It happens because they believe to show themselves in the front of others. Now, I am going to explain why it is happening day by day in individual's life in the following paragraphs.

To begin with, this trend is increasing everyday in the life of youngsters. It usally happens in the metro cities where people want to show their status symbols in the front of society. They visit the new places only for clicking their photographs without knowing the place so that they can show all the images to their friends and relatives. As a result, they maintain their high class status symbol among the society.

Another major reason is social media platform. It plays a vital role in everyone's life. Nowadays, people are more active in social media rather than meet with in-person meetings. They want to visit the well-known places because they can click the pictures and upload on social media platforms such as snapchat, instagram and twitter. Sometimes they go to new places where they do not find the internal happines and joy. Instead of happiness, they click the picture and upload to the social media. Therefore, it helps them to increase their followers on social media as well as get the public reactions.

In conclusion, social media and status symbols are the main reason among people' life to click the pictures and upload on the social media. According to my point of view, it is negative trend among the individuals life which is spreading day by day.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions: you explain the trend through status-seeking and social media, and you clearly judge it negatively in the conclusion. These are relevant reasons, and the examples of uploading photographs to Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter help make the social-media point concrete. However, the two explanations are not developed equally: the status argument largely repeats that people want to display a high-class image, while the social-media paragraph gives more detail about followers and public reactions. The claim that people visit places “without knowing the place” could also be explored more directly by explaining what they miss or how this affects their experience. Develop each reason with a clearer consequence or example to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “Another major reason,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. However, some linking is mechanical, and the introduction’s promise to explain “why it is happening” does not preview your negative position. Connections between ideas within paragraphs could be clearer; for example, the move from people seeking “status symbols” to maintaining “high class status” repeats the same point rather than advancing it. Use referencing and transitions to show cause and effect, and make the conclusion follow more directly from the reasons discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your ideas, including “status symbols,” “social media platforms,” “followers,” and “public reactions.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “in-person meetings.” However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or repetitive: “take the images of themselves,” “in the front of society,” and “maintain their high class status symbol” do not express the ideas naturally. “Happines” is also misspelled, and “everyday” is used where “every day” is intended. Build a more precise range of phrases for taking photographs, seeking approval, and experiencing a destination, and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “places … which they do not look” and a result clause beginning “so that they can show.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. For example, “most of the people” needs a more natural article choice, “It usally happens” has an incorrect subject–verb form, and “people are more active … rather than meet” does not maintain a parallel structure. There are also punctuation and sentence-boundary problems in the opening, where two sentences run together. Review articles, agreement, parallel constructions, and punctuation, while keeping the complex structures you are attempting.
