Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address all three requested points: you offer to prepare a dish, name it as “yam and beans,” and explain that the event could introduce it to people who do not know it. The reason that visitors could taste and enjoy the dish is relevant, and the friendly closing suits a letter to someone you know. However, the description of the dish is very limited: the reader learns its name but not what it contains or how it is prepared. The explanation for including it also repeats the idea of letting people know about it rather than developing several distinct benefits. Add a brief, clear description and expand the reasons to make the proposal more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response follows a broadly suitable letter sequence: greeting and offer, dish name, reasons, then a closing. This makes the main purpose possible to identify. However, ideas are crowded into long sentences, especially the opening, where the greeting, event reference, offer, and request run together. The reason paragraph also combines several points with repeated “and also” and “this is why,” so the progression is not always clear. Separate the letter into purposeful paragraphs and use full stops to mark each main idea. Then connect the offer, description, and reasons with a few precise linking phrases rather than repeating the same connections.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the basic proposal, including “popular food,” “yam and beans,” “dish,” and “delicious.” The reader can understand that you want to introduce a food from your country. However, the range is limited and some word choices or spellings make the message less clear, such as “spcial,” “kow,” and “test the food” where “taste” is intended. Phrases such as “my own country spcial food” and “one of my best food” are also not natural collocations. Build a small set of accurate food-related expressions and use them to describe ingredients, preparation, flavour, and cultural significance more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The letter communicates its main message, but grammatical control is inconsistent and sentence structures are mostly simple or joined into long, faulty sentences. For example, “I will be happy if my name is add in the event” has an incorrect verb form, while “who ever that eat the food will be left with no choice than to be drinkind water” contains several problems with clause structure and verb forms. There are also errors in capitalization and punctuation, including “how are you ?” and the lower-case “i.” Practise forming clear sentences with one main idea, checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and using full stops and commas to separate clauses.
