Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: offering to make a dish, describing it, and explaining its inclusion. However, the response is slightly under the 150-word minimum, which impacts the overall development of ideas. While the purpose is clear, the explanation of why the dish should be included is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. To improve, you should expand on the cultural significance or the specific sensory experience of the dish to ensure you comfortably meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your message. You use basic cohesive devices like 'As I am from' and 'This is very popular', which are appropriate for a letter. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your referencing (e.g., 'that dish') is always clear and precise. The overall structure is sound, but the transitions could be more fluid.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it is somewhat limited and repetitive. You use basic descriptors like 'delicious', 'healthy', and 'popular'. There are also some spelling errors, such as 'foor' instead of 'food', 'helthy' instead of 'healthy', and 'peopel' instead of 'people'. To improve, focus on using more precise adjectives and nouns related to food and culture. Expanding your vocabulary will help you express your ideas with more nuance and precision, which is essential for higher band scores.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'I also want to make Idli Sambhar in that event because it the delicious foor' (missing verb 'is') and 'we called it Sambhar' (tense inconsistency). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and article usage errors throughout. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the clarity of your writing. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tenses will significantly improve your accuracy.
