Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: offering a dish, describing it, and explaining its inclusion. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a club member. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the description of the dish as 'lentils rice batter and all green vegetables' is a bit vague, and the explanation for why it should be included could be more persuasive. To reach a higher band, try to expand on the cultural significance or the specific sensory experience of the dish to make your argument more compelling for the event organiser.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices like 'In addition' and 'Further more', although these are sometimes used mechanically. There are issues with punctuation, such as missing spaces after commas and inconsistent capitalisation, which occasionally disrupts the flow of the text. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your punctuation is accurate, as this will make your writing appear more professional and easier to read.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'cuisines', 'nutrition', and 'vegetarian'. However, there are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'for my opinion' (should be 'in my opinion') and 'positive respond' (should be 'positive response'). Additionally, some phrasing is repetitive or slightly unnatural. To improve, try to learn common collocations and pay attention to the correct word forms (e.g., noun vs. verb). Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives would also help make your writing more engaging.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

Your writing relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While you attempt some complex sentences, they often contain grammatical errors, such as 'to prepare this meal required a lentils rice batter' (missing subject/incorrect verb form) and 'its a very simple recipes' (subject-verb agreement error). There are also frequent issues with capitalisation and punctuation, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and using correct punctuation consistently. Practising the use of relative clauses would also help you create more complex and accurate sentences.
