Dear Luis,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is better for the students to live away from the home during their university studies rather than staying with their parents. To what extent you agree or disagree?
I completely agree with the notion regarding instead of living with parents during graduation, leaving a home is beneficial for students. This essay will elaborate on the explanations behind my position.
This approach results in numerous positive outcomes. First and foremost, students living away from their parents always appear to be more self-reliable compared to students living with their parents. In fact, a major segment of teenager population is raised in closed proximity and is always tends to rely on their parents for their household errands, such as doing laundry, cooking, and shopping. Hence, it is crucial for them to escape their comfort zone and learn how to be self-reliable, in order to become more successful. For instance, reseach conducted in South Asian continent shows that students who left their cities or countries to study further have achieved multiple mile stones and built more fortune compared to student who never left their home.
The another major benefit is that not only do students become self-dependent, but they also become more conscious regarding managing their finacial expenses and studies. To elaborate, students become self-aware regarding spending money sparingly and eliminating unnecesssary purchases. While a few individuals argue that leaving a home can result in emotional detachment between students and their parents, there is no reliable evidence that elaborates this argument. In fact, they feel even stronger attachment with their parents as they realise the significance of parents' sacrifices for their children. A pertinent illustration is that after being employed, a student realises the difficulties their parents faced to earn money and pay thier tution fees.
To conclude, parents should encourage their children to leave a home after specific age especially when they commense a new caurse in an univesity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The student has completely misunderstood the task requirements. The prompt explicitly asks for a letter to an event organiser (Luis) regarding an International Students' club food event. Instead, the student has written an academic essay arguing whether students should live away from home during university. Because the response is entirely off-topic and fails to address any of the bullet points (offering a dish, describing it, explaining its inclusion), it cannot be assessed against the General Training Task 1 criteria. It is a complete failure to address the prompt provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
While the response is structured as an essay with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, the content is irrelevant to the task. Within the context of the essay itself, the progression of ideas is logical, and cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'To elaborate', and 'To conclude' are used to link paragraphs. However, because the response does not address the actual task, the coherence is irrelevant to the intended communication goal.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates a reasonable range of vocabulary, such as 'notion', 'self-reliable', 'detachment', and 'pertinent illustration'. However, there are several spelling errors, including 'reseach', 'finacial', 'unnecesssary', 'thier', 'tution', 'commense', 'caurse', and 'univesity'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to express complex ideas, the frequent spelling mistakes and occasional awkward collocations (e.g., 'built more fortune') limit the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'is always tends to rely' (incorrect verb form), 'The another major benefit' (incorrect article usage), and 'a student realises the difficulties their parents faced to earn money' (missing preposition). While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents a higher score.
