Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: offering to make a dish, describing it, and explaining its inclusion. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. The description of the dish is functional but lacks descriptive depth, and the explanation for its inclusion is brief. Additionally, the letter ends abruptly with an incomplete sentence ('my participat'), which leaves the task unfinished. To reach a higher band, ensure that all ideas are fully developed and that the letter concludes with a complete, polite closing statement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your message. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite basic and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition between the description of the dish and the explanation for its inclusion is abrupt. There is also a lack of variety in linking words, which makes the flow feel a bit repetitive. To improve, try using a wider range of cohesive devices such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to connect your ideas more smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'cuisine', 'creamy flavor', and 'tangy texture'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'numbers of foods' (should be 'a number of dishes') and 'present one of the best food' (should be 'present one of the best dishes'). Expanding your range of vocabulary and focusing on correct collocations will help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('there are numbers of foods that is loved') and article usage ('the wheat flour'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence boundaries and capitalization. The incomplete final sentence significantly impacts the overall accuracy. Focusing on proofreading your work to correct basic subject-verb agreement and article errors will greatly improve your grammatical accuracy.
