Dear Luis,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to express my interest for presenting one of the popular food dish of my country in the event.

I am planning to make choole batture. It includes the beans which are soaked overnight than they are mixed with healthy and taste spices and gravy made of tomato, onion, garlic and a table spoon of curd. It is served with batture which is kind of bread fried in oil.

It is one of the popular food which is liked and loved by everyone globally. At this global stage where most of participants would be presenting the famous food of their country, I would like present this dish which represent culture and heritage of India.

I would appreciate if I could get your approval to present this popular food in this global event. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Ravi

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly offered to make a dish, provided a description of the ingredients and preparation, and explained its cultural significance. The tone is appropriate for a letter to an event organiser. To improve, you could provide more specific detail about the 'culture and heritage' of India to further develop your ideas, as the current explanation is a bit general. However, the purpose of the letter is clear, and the reader is fully informed of your intentions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The letter follows a logical structure, with each paragraph focusing on a specific requirement of the task. The progression of ideas is easy to follow. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'It is', 'At this global stage', and 'I would appreciate'. While the flow is generally good, the transitions between sentences could be more varied to improve the sophistication of the text. For instance, using a wider range of linking words like 'furthermore' or 'consequently' would help connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task. You use terms like 'culture', 'heritage', and 'globally' correctly. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'interest for presenting' (should be 'interest in presenting') and 'popular food dish' (redundant; 'popular dish' is sufficient). Additionally, 'taste spices' should be 'tasty spices'. While these errors do not impede communication, refining your word choices and paying closer attention to collocations will help you reach a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'than they are mixed' (should be 'then they are mixed') and 'which represent culture' (should be 'which represents the culture'). The use of articles is occasionally inconsistent, such as 'the popular food' when referring to food in general. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the letter. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of conjunctions to link your ideas more accurately.
