Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: offering a dish, describing it, and explaining why it should be included. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the description of the dish is quite basic, and the explanation for its inclusion relies on general statements rather than specific details that would make the event more appealing. To reach a higher band, try to provide more descriptive language and elaborate on how your contribution would specifically benefit the club's event. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to an organizer, though it lacks a formal structure.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'Lastly' to transition between ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and run-on sentences, such as 'I would like to offer one special dish from my country is butter chicken my background is indian'. Improving your sentence structure and using a wider variety of linking words would help the ideas progress more smoothly. The opening and closing salutations are present, though there are minor errors in the name and sign-off.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your message, but it is quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple descriptors like 'special', 'traditional', and 'famous'. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'born-less' (likely meaning boneless), 'flock' (likely meaning folks), and 'thik' (thick). To improve, focus on using more precise culinary terminology and ensuring correct spelling. While your meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the presence of these errors limit your score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use mostly simple sentence structures, and there are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and capitalization throughout the text. For example, 'i got a news' should be 'I received news', and 'this will be born-less' is grammatically incorrect. There are also issues with run-on sentences where multiple ideas are joined without proper punctuation. While the errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. Incorporating more complex sentence structures and proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and punctuation would significantly improve your writing.
