Dear Luis,

I am writing to show my keen interest in the food event that you are organizing.

Firstly, I would like you to offer a food dish which is one of the best dish from my country and the name is puran poli. Basically, it is a maharastrian make the dish on their cultural programs but it is most well-known all over the country.

In brief, Puran poli is made up from wheat flour and stuff with cheackpeas sweet batter. It can be made like a paratha and roasted in a pan, Moreover it is good food for those who is more consious about their health and digestion.

I think this is best time and place for display the food as a popular food in my country, so that people get to know and get a chance to try on and explore the worlds famous food at one destination.

I really appreciate your support for considering my participation in postive way.

I look forward to hearing back from you regarding the process for participation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly offered to make a dish, described it as a sweet chickpea-filled flatbread, and explained its cultural significance and health benefits. The tone is appropriate for a letter to an event organizer. To reach a higher band, ensure that your descriptions are slightly more detailed; for example, you could elaborate on the specific cultural occasions where 'puran poli' is served to provide a more vivid picture for the reader. Overall, the response is well-focused and meets the requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a specific purpose. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'In brief', and 'Moreover' to guide the reader through your points. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally slightly mechanical. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that referencing (e.g., 'this dish', 'the event') is consistently clear. The paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow from the introduction to the closing statement.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using terms like 'cultural programs', 'wheat flour', and 'participation'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'stuff with cheackpeas' (should be 'stuffed with chickpeas') and 'consious' (spelling error). While you successfully convey your meaning, the vocabulary is somewhat basic. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise adjectives and topic-specific collocations related to food and cultural events, such as 'traditional delicacy' or 'nutritionally balanced'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'I would like you to offer a food dish' (which sounds like you are asking Luis to offer it, rather than offering to make it yourself) and 'those who is more consious' (subject-verb agreement error: 'those who are'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some awkward phrasings. Increasing your control over complex sentence structures and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will help improve your accuracy.
