IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Luis,

Dear Luis,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to offer a dish which we can celebrate with the other dishes which you selected for the event. I am very glad to know about the event which you are organizing for international students.

Furthermore, the organizer selected so many cuisines from different countries, which I have read in the event book, but you did not mention the food from India. I have a better option for displaying the culture of my country; our signature dish is dal-rice with crisp, which is known as papad. I will make sure that every individual likes that food, and they will enjoy it a lot.

In addition, there are reasons for offering this food, because 45% of students come from India, and also we have a chance to describe our popular dish in front of people from other cultures.

I look forward to your response. Please give me positive feedback so we can work on that.
